We're sinking...but still travelling

We had to get ourselves to the ferry port in order for us to sale to Phuket, we recognised a couple of faces so that was good.

The sun had finally decided to shine good and proper for the first time since we had been in Thailand. The sky was clear instead of hazy and the air was beautiful. Only problem was we had to get to the ferry as it was to shallow to come into port. This was to be done using a long tail boat. A slightly bigger motorised gondola! There were two that took our group out, the other took 6 people whilst ours carried a wopping 12!! AND all of our bags!! wheres the fairness in that!?

The boat failed to start as well and we were literally drifting away before the other boat with 6 came and gave ours a jump start. They all laughed and wished us luck!!

The ferry itself was cool, we picked our spot on the side of the boat and lay sunning and taking in the views of the little islands dotted around as we made our way up to Phuket.

Our previous hotel had phoned ahead to get us a reservation this time but the taxi driver dropped us off in the wrong place! In the middle of the strip and this hotel was nowhere to be found! Luckily we bumped into a couple from the Sunny Midlands who had been walking around for an hour trying to find somewhere cheap to stay, so we joined them.

Now its high season here people, in a resort town so cheap isnt going to be likely but us two guys went in search of 'cheap' whilst the girls kicked back with a bottle of wine.

Bout an hour later we came back with some prices which we thought were reasonable so we took one while our new friends went to stay with some other mates down the road as our hotel of 15pounds for the night was far too much! (They didnt have a pool for the morning heat wave though did they?!)

Having checked out we realised a financial crisis was beginning to play itself out as it was saturday afternoon and that realistically we couldnt afford where we were staying so we checked in to somewhere else and left our troubles on the beach!

Getting to Pe Nang would require some more bussing!!! :(
