Day 43
We left Dubai last night at 8pm and flew to Singapore arriving at 7am Singapore time. We transferred to a Silk Air flight to Phuket, arriving in Phuket at 10am Phuket time.
As I write this my body has no idea what time it is, as I didn’t sleep on the flight to Singapore.
I would imagine I will be exhausted by the end of today.
We have done a fair bit of travelling on this trip and been in a number of airports. I have to say Phuket was the craziest.
We got to passport control and the little man would not process us until we stood on the painted red footmarks. He became quite imperious and as Graham said ‘he had his little bit of power!!!’
It is a funny little airport, and unfortunately we arrived as four other aircraft had just arrived, so it was mayhem.
We walked out the exit and another little man pounced on us and wanted to know what was in our suitcases.
I tell you that was my worst nightmare as everything in the suitcases is packed right down and unpacking and then repacking would take me forever.
I must
have looked horrified because the little man gave me a hard look and then waved us on.
We breathed a collective sigh of relief.
Graham’s client was at the airport to greet us and he had made a booking at this wonderful resort for us.
So this is a working holiday for Graham over the next couple of days.
The most amazing thing was the client knew of Graham but didn’t have any contact address for him. So the client ‘Googled’ Graham’s name and would you believe it up came my Travel Blog Site, and from that he was able to contact Graham.
The most amazing thing is that the clients sister-in-law is an Ade from Zimbabwe. We know that they are related to Graham from the extensive Family History that has been written.
It is sooooo hot and humid here after the beautiful mountains of Hatta. I fine this humidity very oppressive.
The staff here at the Chandara Resort are just lovely. Nothing is too much trouble.
