AT A YUMMY DINNER!
Sunday was quite a day for anticipation; our flight didn't leave until 1:15 in the morning, so we spent the day in Melbourne getting ready to go. We were so excited to make it to the airport and leave for Thailand. After a long flight we had made it at 6 am in the morning. The first part of our trip in Thailand is 5 days at a place called Ao Nang. It's in Southern Thailand, close to where the tsunami hit, but also where all the beautiful beaches are. It has been nothing but amazing so far! Today we took a longboat (the wooden things you see in magazines) to another island to spend the day at the beach. It was so beautifu, mountains surrounding us, like nothing we've ever seen. The best part of the day was when me Helen & MN all got foot massages & pedicures right on the beach itself. Talk about relaxing! We're staying in the nicest place, it's so cool! I don't really care what it is as long as it isn't a hostel! We get free breakfast in the mornings which has been amazing b/c they have everything you could possibly want including omelettes made to order! All the food has been so amazing thus far!!! We've just been hanging out by our awesome pool and the beach relaxing and it has been great! I'll go ahead and mention how good the shopping is.....we've definitely gone a bit crazy haha....it's so great! and supposedly only going to get better, so that could be dangerous haha....sorry to keep this short, but gotta run, enjoy the pics and will update soon!

My name is Caroline and I am traveling with two of my bestest friends Mary Neill and Lyndsey. We all went to this little school in South Carolina called Furman together. Since none of us had any real plans after graduation, we all thought a few months on the other side of the world would do. Our plans are to go to Nadi, Fiji for 8 days, then head to Sydney, Australia, where we are living for four months and traveling for one and finally to ... full info

A unified Thai kingdom was established in the mid-14th century. Known as Siam until 1939, Thailand is the only Southeast Asian country never to have been taken over by a European power. A bloodless revolution in 1932 led to a constitutional monarchy....more info
