Wow, I've got no idea how to start this entry. Let put it simply, Tiffany has been with us for a week and she will share 8 of the next 12 weeks with us! So that alone is wonderful! Leslie just had few days of school holidays. So less than 24 hours after the arrival of Tiffany in Bangkok we were ready for a little diving trip. We continue our exploration of the different diving islands of Thailand. This time it's Koh Toa. Koh Tao is hugely popular with the backpacker crowd, look at TB, nearly 1300 entries simply on Koh Toa. I had no idea what to expect. The end result was pretty good, even if we still prefer Koh Lipe way ahead of Koh Tao. Few great souvenirs this week that we will remember ... read more

All of a sudden 2,5 weeks gone by and... we are still here. Im not quite sure how this happenend but well, sometimes you just have to go with the flow :) After a long and rather uncomfortable bus journey (well, especially for tall people) and a few hours on a boat we finally arrived on Koh Tao. As we were really tired we just jumped on one of the taxis at the pier and ended up in Sairee, the main beach and probably not the most beautiful. However, plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from (most of them serving anything from Thai dishes to pizza, tapas and English breakfast - yeah, exactly the kind of food you expect in such a tropical location ;)). Due to the fact that its low season at the ... read more

So there is much to catch up on. I didn't have internet at the hostel we were staying in, we've been really busy, plus with three good friends from home and Maryse hanging around to keep me busy, I've been slacking in my blog duties. We're now back in Bangkok awaiting our flight to India in two days time, so I'll get started with the catch up. Surprisingly little happened to be honest, as we were basically relaxing on an island for the majority of the time. A few good stories and very few pictures. Most things we did were at places where my camera would break (underwater) or get stolen (Full Moon Party), so it was often left behind. A disposable camera of the full moon party does exist and will be developed when Crab ... read more

We arrived in Koh Tao after leaving Krabi so to be honest anything would have been more beautiful than that awful place...however Koh Tao is genuinely a beautiful island! It is all sandy beaches, rock formations and jungle! It is much more chilled out and quiet than Phi Phi but i tried to reserve judgement until we had spent a few days there! I was really suprised at the night life as it was actually quite busy in some of the beach bars after about 12am with people drinkng buckets, dancing on the beach and generally making an arse out of themselves!!!My kind of night!lol! The highlight for me though was definatly the food....they do amazing bbq's with different kinds of fresh sea food and meats! Its probaby been the best food i have had so far ... read more

Hello hello, So the last time I wrote (well heather wrote for me due to the ol wrist problemo) we had just arrived in Samui. As i mentioned we stayed in Chaweng in a backpacker type place called "The Wave", the wave was pretty cool with some friendly owners, we were initially in a nice room but it was a little out of our price range so for the second and third nights we switched to a basic room (500thb a night). Chaweng is very developed and westernized, the only locals you see are working in smaller shops, god knows how they afford the rent. We had some ok food but everything nice was pretty pricey so we had to stick to budget joints. One thing that put a big downer on Samui was the amount ... read more

***Make sure to watch the video of us diving!!!*** Bangkok (again) The smiles on our faces could not have been bigger when we landed on the Bangkok tarmac, knowing we were only about an hour away from some spicy Pad Thai street food, LOTS of amazing shopping, and cheap rooms. As we arrived by Khao San Rd, it was an immediate sigh of relief for us, accompanied by an unfamiliar feeling of…wait, we actually know where we’re going without exploring for a whole day. After dropping our things off and checking in at Merry V, the first thing on our agenda was heading to the corner for $1 Pad Thai and a fruit shake. Our first FULL day however, would be spent going back to our favorite market to date…the Chatuchuk Market with enough stalls wear ... read more

Haven't been able to get online for a while so I'll keep this one brief. Ko Tao was beautiful and very hot especially when you cant afford air-con, but the amazing diving easily made up for it!... read more

EDIT: Photos on this entry should actually be on the following blog I have yet to publish, too late to change it as finding a computer thats agreeable to my cart reader is quite a mission. Photos will obviously make more sense next entry... The Thai New year is held on the 13th of April and is known as Sonkran. On Sonkran, buddas are bathed in water and monks bless the younger thais by pouring water over their heads. What also happens though is that the thais let off steam and kill of any tension built up during the year by having a countrywide waterfight, yep you heard it, for the entire Sonkran festival the entire populance tools up with buckets of water and supersoakers and sets about drenching everyone they see. If anyone remembers when ... read more

16-17 avril 2011 Bangkok, ville pivot. ... read more

We got up at 7 in the morning and got ready to leave, Stefanie and I were heading for Koh Tao and Frank for Bangkok and Denmark - poor him. We arrived at Koh Tao and i tried looking for the bungalows i had lived in earlier, but i couldnt find them at first so we found another place where we could stay for the night. The island had been flooded a couple of weeks before we arived and you could see that the resort had taken damages, but other than that, there were not many damages to see. We found the place (S.B.C) and decided to move there the next day. We went to Coffee Boat for some lunch, which is a small local restaurant i keep coming back to. Cheap, good food and free ... read more
