Phew! a few busy days or not as the case may be! last time I wrote we had just had a manicure (not recommended as chipped the very next day! well it was only 2 pound). Stayed put on paradise for the next 2 days where we soaked up the sun, watched Thai dancing, had a full body massage (no, not a Thai one!!) which was actually very nice, they are so very thorough even massaging your ear lobes (but not your vital bits may I add) and we found the most lovely contempory restaurant that was run by a lovely English girl and her Thai husband (Luna) the food was excellent but a bit hot for my delicate taste buds lol. The head waiter on the resort was called 'Boy' and the head girl was called 'Banana' still can't get my head around the names. Was a bit sorry to leave the place but in true back packing style we had to travel! (god you are going to get so so sick of this back packing lark!!!!) Didn't like to mention earlier that we had a bit of a storm while in paradise only lasted about an hour and was quite exciting to watch especially when the crockery kept flying off the tables and the waiters had to catch them!!!

Early Friday morning we got a cab (well a jeep) into Koh pha-ngan pier to catch the catamaran to our next island of Koh Tao, now this came as quite a shock to us! as its the smallest island we have visited and as the others have been relitively quiet and laid back we thought that this would be even more seclucluded! what a shock!!!!!!!!!!!!!! imagine Ibiza in the middle of Thailand (pretty poor comparison really but after what we have been use to this is certainly a party town!) apparently this is divers paradise! and the only thing I have to compare it with was being in Austria as a non skier if that makes sense? But never mind make the most of it! last night we went to see a Ladyboy show which I wasn't very impressed with, hardly Lilly Savage! (we are so use to the best) Today though was absolutely brilliant we spent the full day on a boat tour snorkelling at different bays the next bit warrents a new paragragh!!!!!!!!!

Right here goes!! the first bay we stopped at was called Shark Bay and yes I did actually swim with sharks, yep getting carried away here, was a baby shark about 1 metre long that swam right underneath me! was amazing and yes I did start humming the theme music to Jaws! We stopped at several different bays throughout the day and the snorkelling was fab it was like being an extra in the 'Finding Nemo' movies, its a different world down there and until now didn't appreciate how lovely the different corals were, I did wish Jess and Dan were with me as they would have loved it, though no doubt I would have scared them half to death with my Jaws theme tune!!

Tonight we have just chilled as tomorrow we are hoping to go to a more peaceful resort and hopefully do a little bit more snorkelling

A unified Thai kingdom was established in the mid-14th century. Known as Siam until 1939, Thailand is the only Southeast Asian country never to have been taken over by a European power. A bloodless revolution in 1932 led to a constitutional monarchy....more info
