Diving!!

Heyy!

Weve just spend 5 amazing days on koh tao! 4 of which i took my open water diver course! I think iv wrote about getting there in my last blog with the sleeper boat and everything which was a laugh! Onm the first night we had a crazy night, went to this beach bar with some guys we know and it was soo nice, the sea was like 3 foot away from us and we were all just laid on cusions chillin out n havin a drink, as the night got later we had abit of a dance n stuff, thats the good thing bout koh tao, the bars are cool cos u can sit and chill all night or u can get up and have a big dance n tht all like 2 minutes from each other! A few of us went in the sea and as we got further out i panict cos things started wrappin round my legs and i couldnt see what it was then something bit/stung my toe so i ran out terrified for my life and then no1 would wee on my toe so i thought id had it! Turns out it was a shimp bite but it was where the bit on sandels goes inbetween your toes so it caused me problems for a few days! Anyway we decided to stay out n watch the sunset, so was waiting till like 6.30 when all of a sudden it was bright and we were all confused..then realised the sun rises from the other side of the island...were right thick lol!

ANyway, diving! It was so good, you start your first day watchin videos about the theory behind it and the techniques and then have work sheets to do and stuff, was proper like school! On the second day we went in the pool and had to do different skills in the pool and learnt how to set the equiptment up and then do things like swim underwater, different signals, how to get your breather thing back if it falls out n u lose it, what to do if someone runs out of air etc etc! THe hardest was taking the mask off while still breathing then putting it back on...i seeem to have a disabled nose cos i cant breathe through my mouth without breathing through my nose..so water kept shootin up my nose into my lungs and makin me choke! So i was terrified of this skill! especially when i had to do it 12m deep in the sea! Anyway, on the 3rd n 4th day we did four dives, so 2 on the 3rd day and 2 on the 4th! I was actually quite scared on the first ever dive before we went down cos we had to do the stupid mask thing n i thought if i start chokin i cant just go to the surface, cos theres gay rules bout how fast u can surface or u get decompression sickness, but it all turned out great and it turned out to be AMAZING! Its so weird but good to be able to breathe underwater, u can burp, cough n do anything u can on the surface! Its like a different world and all 3 of us decided we loved it and wanted to become dive master and instruct people! SO i think im gunna forget uni and become a dive master! It sounds amazing cos u can travel anyway and live off the money u make from diving, plus u get to dive for free! SO iv got abit of the travel bug and the diving bug now but im sure it will be one of those things i forget bout soon enough! ALso i get too sea sick and ur on a boat alot of the time so thats abit rubbish! THe only thing that annoyed me is u cant get underwater cameras for courses so i have hardly any pics for this blog! BUt this women came with us on our dives and filmed it all, so iv got a dvd to show everyone when i get back! Its quite good cos she got the part when these giant fish started attackin us! THey had massive teeth anall so i feared for my life at one point!

ANyway, yesterday i got to koh phangan and our room is immense, u even get breakfast and intenet in the room! WHich is what im using now cos i feel sooo hungover from last night! I may aswell write about last night now while its still in my head! CArly n lindsay are still in tao, they get to phangan today, so i went n met laura who we met earlier and this guy nick who i met in tao and his mate, this irish couple and this guy chris who im doin some travelling with later on! We had an awsome night on the beach dancing and that, i will put some pics on here so theres actually something to look at! I feel rubbish today tho so not good, last night someone mentioned getting mopeds and visitin places but i bet no1 gets up in time so my plan is to go to the pool cos we have an awsome pool and bar here!
