Retirement Finally

Welcome to Lee and Sandy O'Neill's travel blog. We retired in March 2008 and our feet haven't had time to touch the ground ever since.

We both love travelling and over the years have been to many varied and interesting places. I think over 50 countires in total. Now that we are retired we hope to go to some of the places we haven't been yet such as South America, China, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia to name a few.

We are also going to become "grey nomads" and have bought the obligatory caravan with all the mod cons.

Our first venture around Australia was 25 years ago when our children were young. We went from Brisbane to Ayers Rock and Alice Springs, Darwin, Broome, Perth and got as far as Norsman when we had an accident and wrote off both the car and caravan. So that was the end of that trip. It was a great experience though and our children also learnt a lot from that and both of them still love travelling today.

Our first little adventure since retirement was to Koh Samui in Thailand. We had the pleasure of the company of our daughter Kelly and her husband Iain. I can recommend Koh Samui for a nice relaxing holiday which is what we needed after 40 years of work.

We are heading off into the wild blue yonder soon on a two month stint through Qld, NSW, South Australia and NT.
