Excuse me, there's a crab on your head.
Published: May 20th 2013Asia » Thailand » South-West Thailand » Ko Phi Phi Leh » Maya BayI can't wait to tell you about the events of the last few days! I feel like a pirate, or a character from Lost. We took there Ferry early morning to Koh Phi Phi Don Island and felt like we were pulling into Neverland. The green islands and long tail boats and colorful fish--I was waiting for Rufio to come Bangarang out of the jungle. Always had a crush on Rufio. Naturally we were charged some bogus “tax” to exit the ferry boat. You aren't told about this tax when you board the ferry in Phuket so you have no choice but to pay it. Otherwise, what, you swim back to Phuket?? They charge you to breath in Southeast Asia I swear. “Tweny baht!” for this and “onehunred baht!” for that... it's ridiculous. They even have ... read more

Phi Phi Island is the top destination for traveler and backpacker for many years because the crystal sea shinning and White sand beach specially Maya Bay (The Beach) the first attraction for all time. This Video Clip I will bring you to explore all of Phi Phi Leh such as Monkey beach , Pileh lagoon , Viking cave and Maya bay. But most of tourists think that Phi Phi island is number one paradise island of Thailand, Actually they are wrong. Koh Phi Phi, Thailand
Published: February 24th 2013Asia » Thailand » South-West Thailand » Ko Phi Phi LehDear Grace and Mag, I just spent a week on Phi Phi island which I thought as first was going to be too much because it's a party island and I was there for 3 nights and Hannah was arriving after that for a further 3 nights. I thought I would have to leave a bit early - As it turns out I am more hardcore than I thought and loved every second of it. The hostel was on the beach that was clear water and white sand and only 7 quid per night. The first day I met two really nice girls n the boat on the way over - Beckie and Becky so we met for dinner and drinks later that night and had such a giggle! At first we were in the little ... read more
Full Moon Party and Koh Phi Phi
Published: September 8th 2012Asia » Thailand » South-West Thailand » Ko Phi Phi Leh » Maya BayHiiiiiii! Last Saturday we got ready for the Full Moon party and boarded a speed boat - with our brightly coloured full moon party tops - to take us across to Koh Phangan - although this certainly felt like an undercover mission and it was not so reassuring that most of the boat crew seemed to be drinking bottles of Chang beer! When we arrived, we had some body paint done and wonderered around the busy streets (certainly backpackers central!) in search of alcohol buckets - the red bull was lethal!!. The actual beach was full of people firedancing and chilling to music and there was even a designated sleeping zone! After a night of partying on the beach and meeting a few other backpackers we got the speedboat back to Koi Samui where Issy had ... read more

Leonardo's strand ;-)
Zes pijnlijke ... read more
Niki returned the next day and we had a fairly relaxed last couple of days on Phi Phi, enjoying beers on the beach, walking up the viewpoint and laying in hammocks arouund the island. Niki got in a couple more fun dives and we decided for our last night in Phi Phi we would do an overnight camping trip to Maya Bay on Phi Phi Ley, the smaller neighboring island. Maya bay is made popular by the Leonardo DiCaprio film "The Beach". Its an amazingly busy beach during the day, with hundreds of tourists catching longtails over or taking chartered boats to the beach for the afternoon to swim, snorkel and lay in the sun. I'd been warned by a lot of people that it was a huge tourist trap in the day and that you'd ... read more

Pure Shores
Published: April 16th 2012Asia » Thailand » South-West Thailand » Ko Phi Phi Leh » Maya BayOn Saturday night i double booked myself with the football, Liverpool vs Everton FA cup semi final. Anything else and i probably would have gone in a mood for hours. But instead on Saturday late afternooon, we embarked on the most memorable journey of a lifetime, to Maya Bay - Ko Phi Phi Leh, aka "the beach". When we were picked up from Ton Sai pier, we boarded a big reggae style boat, which was red, green and yellow. As we were keen, we boarded about half hour early, and went straight up to the top deck to bathe in the late afternoon sun, and take some piccies of the harbour. The boat left on time aT 4pm, but I was confused why our group was so small. Usually the camping trip attracts somewhere between 40-60 ... read more
THE THAI EXPERIENCE PART 1: KO PHI PHI & CHIANG MAI
Published: April 5th 2012Asia » Thailand » South-West Thailand » Ko Phi Phi LehKO PHI PHI Oh dear! Ko Phi Phi what have you done?! This place should be paradise but instead it's a tourist-run, over-priced craphole! I spent two nights in Krabi town at Pak Up Hostel (I should've stayed longer - Krabi was a cool little town) and then on Friday 2nd I ferried over to Phi Phi Don Island where I stayed until Wednesday 7th. Even as I write that I'm still not sure how and why I stayed there that long! I arrived at the pier on Ton Sai Bay on the south side of Phi Phi Don and no sooner had I stepped off the ferry were they already asking for money - 20 Baht "island cleaning and maintenance" fee - a complete joke given that the island is full of empty beer cans ... read more
