We have just arrive back in the hussle of Bangkok after a couple of the most amazing weeks.
This place is the largest island and we arrived there just after dark so we didn't get to fully appreciate the island till the following day, but that night began the tradition of Sam Soing whiskey (the cheapest Thai whiskey) on the beach with a few drinking games. Just a quiet night through.
The following day we emerged with a few sore heads from our beach side bungalow and the hangover was cured by how amazing the beach was, it was the best I've seen (so far). White sand and still blue and green water. That morning we met this chap called Adam who we invited to join us and a game of football and few bottles of whiskey later Adam was joining us on our trip to Ko Pha-Ngan.
We were chatted up at the pier by these Bermese lad who spoke with this strange cockney accent, it was very strange and he pursuaded us to come and stay at this resort call Coral Bungalows, and for 200bt a night with air con and a
swimming pool we could not resist.
The first night we arrive was the pool party at the resort which was one of the best parties i have been to. It started off pretty slowly but then we introduced some drinking card games which proved to be very popular and had all others flocking to our table for a bit of the action. I also learnt a few new games as well (so maybe we can once and for all get rid of Keeney's ring of fire game when I get back ;-) ).
The pool party will also be memorable for another reason. We were all having a good time and then we all noticed that we hadn't seen Sammy for a while. We just assumed he had got lucky, it wasn't until we had a massive rain shower and a power cut that I found him while running my camera back to the room. He was getting out of an ambulance looking very sheepish. The silly sausage had only gone and dived in the shallow end of the pool and broke his nose and cut his lip. Any way 7 stitches later and it was bed time for Sam.
The drama wasn't over yet, Ryan and Gaz had a little disagreement over some Israeli bird and Ryan jabbed Gaz in the temple and then ran off. They were both fine the next day if not a little embarrassed, we tried to help by reminding them all about it several times throughout the day.
We had a quiet night the following night and watched the opening world cup games while the fighting duo, Ry and Gaz went to the Black Moon Party. The less said about that night the better.
The next day was Englands First game. It kicked off at 1.30am, I got on it a bit too quickly, as we sat on the beach with buckets of whiskey and red bull watching it on the big screen in a big circle of about 12 or 15 people. I can barley remember the national anthems. Won't be making that mistake again. Big thanks to the 3 girls from Plymouth who took care of me that night.
Up early the next day for a boat trip round the island, was not happy to be waking up that early but the trip was the best I have
been on. we saw some "postcard" beaches and went snorkeling in a coral reef. My favorite time of the trip so far.
The smallest island out of the 3, this is where we said our good byes to Ry and Gaz and the friends who we made at Coral Bungalows. From now on me and Sam were doing it a alone. We stayed in this dirt cheap room and I woke up to find a giant cockroach crawling up my leg in the middle of the night. Scared me to death, we slept with the light on for next two nights haha.
The following night we were walking home when we bumped into the 3 girls who looked after me the night of the England game. It turned into another session involving a few Chang beers and a fair few buckets. There may be a few suspect pictures of me coming to a facebook near you soon. We went skinny dipping in the sea at sun rise and they dressed me up as a ladyboy and walked be around the ladyboy district. All good fun!
Me and Sam then got a speed ferry back to
the mainland, which was well worth the extra 2 quid as it was choppy on the sea that day and it was more like a rollercoster than a ferry trip.
Anyway back in mad Bangkok now and stopping on the Ko-San Road, ready to go out and watch the england game, and make sure I watch it this time.
