Excitement on the boat trip to Koh Lipe (finally!)
Today is our third day on Koh Lipe, Thailand. We have now officially become beached whales! Not so much in the physical sense... But certainly mentally! Actually, perhaps a more accurate description would be beached sponges!

We arrived Tuesday but unfortunately about 5 hours later than we expected. No fault but our own... We (I) misread our ferry tickets and thought our boat from Langkawi, Malaysia left at 10:30am (which would have been perfect as our flight landed at 9:30am), but in fact our boat left at 2:30pm (which in Thai time means more like 3pm). So our trip ended up being about 24 hours. By the time we arrived (and pretty much for the past two days), we have been largely incapable of anything!

Yesterday Nick went out for his first day of his Advanced Scuba course. It's for two days so he is out again today and will do a night dive tonight. I'm laying on the beach typing this... The tan is coming along just fine ladies (burnt twig effect under way). Yesterday Nick saw a whale whilst out on the dive. He said they followed it in the boat hoping to

get the chance to swim with it. He took Go Pro video camera down with him so we will hopefully have some good videos! This way it's kind of like we got to go diving together, seeing as I can't with my ears =(

Food has been amazing as always! And thankfully here there is just so much I can eat! We had the most amazing grilled squid and a whole fish last night on the beach, with a spicy glass noodle salad for about $12. We've also discovered a fantastic water noodle dish which is in a spicy broth with chicken pieces. And you just know that everything is so fresh cos you see the guys out fishing during the day and the women chopping up the vegetables and chicken during the day (probably the same chickens we saw running around the day before... But best not to think of this!).

Now... Back to being a beached whale!

Before I go... I'd just like to add that this is about my fourth attempt to post this blog! It has required one iPad, then one laptop, a USB and now an internet cafe
