Our last day in Ko PHI Phi was a very long and busy day as we tried to cram in all the things we had been too lazy to do in the last 3. We rose early (for us) and booked ourself onto a longtail boat tour of the island and the surrounding islands and set of with a group of about 10 fellow farrangs and 2 guides. Our stops included shark point (where we snorkeled for around half an hour but sadly saw no sharks just many many beautiful fish), Bamboo island, Monkey Beach (so named for the cheeky inhabitants who spend all their time enjoying tourist attention and stealing things from unattended bags and the drinks bar), Ko Phi Phi Leh (snorkeling here was amazing and we saw all sorts of gorgeous colourful fish, and some Nemo clown-fish popping in and out of sight, and a poisonous but beautiful lion fish), and finally Maya Bay (where filming of 'The Beach' took place).
After about six hours on the boat, when we finally got back on dry land we felt rocky for some time, and because of the festivities of the full moon party that night, we didnt have long to recover. A group of us from our hostel and some new arrivals from that day all headed out together and the night was long (ending with bed at about 6 or 7) and fun. Dancing on the beach with a full moon overhead was amazing.
The day after, we rose after about three hours sleep and made our way to the pier, where we and some others staying in our hostel (The Rock - grim but fun) hopped on the ferry to Ko Lanta. Our new home is costing us just over a pound each per night and is arround 1000 times better than The Rock - with en-suite and a 30 second walk to the beach.
There is a fire show every night and in the day the guys give free lessons on how to do the tricks - I have been learning (Cox) and am getting pretty good - and Becky pretends to watch while snoozing on a deck chair...
