Hello again!
So we have left Ko Lanta and travelled for 12 hours today to find ourselves in Kanchanaburi, 150 kms east of Bangkok - home to The River Kwai, Hellfire Pass and The Tiger Temple. We have 2 nights / 2 days here before heading off for Cambodia so I thought I would give a rundown on our time in Lanta. The good and the NOT so good!! Originally this blog was titled Ko Lanta - From the Pits of Hell to a Slice of Paradise (and you will soon work out why!) however I found a better title! Hehehe! However lets start where I left off with one of the previous blogs and we had just gotten off the ferry from hell and were on our way to the perfect resort where nothing could go wrong right!! After all I had done hours of research! How wrong could I be?! VERY!
Lanta Long Beach Resort - A Total Nightmare
We arrived at the resort - LANTA LONG BEACH RESORT - and checkin seemed smooth... until we were shown to our bungalow..... which apparently has a double bed, a single bed and views of the

Hi Marita & Heath
Just a quick comment as I am very bleary eyed after just ariving home this morning. Well, Terry & I arrived home but our luggage didn't - both bags are still in Singapore!!! Fingers crossed they will arrive tomorrow, actually fingers, toes and everything else crossed. It was great to meet you both in Phuket, we had a ball, best holiday ever. Have fun in your last week or so. Look after yourselves and hopefully we will get that catch up sometime.

Hi Reet, Just to get my retaliation in first, I thought you might appreciate this: "Billy was at school this morning in the Australian outback and the teacher asked all the children what their fathers did for a living. All the typical answers came out, fireman, policeman, salesman, chippy, captain of industry etc,but Billy was being uncharacteristically quiet and so the teacher asked him about his father.
"My father is an exotic dancer in a gay club and takes off all his
clothes in front of other men. Sometimes if the offer is really good, he'll go out with a man, rent a cheap hotel room and let them sleep with him."
The teacher quickly set the other children some work and took little Billy
aside to ask him if that was really true.
"No" said Billy,
"He plays cricket for England but I was just too embarrassed to say."
Looking forward to next blog!
Hi Marita and Heath just got back yesterday from Bangkok. I'm feeling a bit worse for wear, tired and caught a flu virus compliments of some passengers sitting behind me on the flight home. Was great meeting you both at the sunshine bar on the 29th. Was an awesome night and I enjoyed meeting others from the forum as well. Enjoy the rest of your trip.
Cheers
Cindy
Thanks for the heads up about Long Beach. My family and I are going to Lanta for 17 days, and I am totally stressed finding the right place. We were considering Long Beach but now, I know better :) Our kids are 4 and 2, and "travelling" with them is an adventure in itself! trying to find the right place with them in tow is a nightmare.
Probably going to stay at Relax, at least for the first couple of days. Our budget is not extreme, so maybe we'll have to look around some more.
I read a recent review about Relax that said their tap water was dark brown...whassup with that?
Again, tks alot for your excellent triporting...um...travelogue.
