One of many attractions on Koh Chang.
Koh Chang is welcoming more and more tourists every year, but it still has little bit of this wild beauty, that those not-yet-spoiled places have. Since they didn't finish the road around the whole island yet, the western side like Lonely beach is the one where you'll almost 90% of them. On the other side and after you pass Ko Chang Tai, there are very few of them, and if you go to Ko Phrao Nai, or Ko Phrao Nok - which you can do by renting a kayak, there are almost only natives, if anybody at all.

After arrival, we decided for the southern part, so we was offered to be taken with a lovely lady from the harbor and her husband. There are many taxis on the island, but as I said, almost all of them are taking the tourists to the Lonely beach resort, or to the whole western part. (That is aroung 100 baht, depends on in which hotel you are in, but to take you to the opposite direction would cost you around 500-1000 baht… well…)

We stayed at lovely hotel at the very end of the road on the east of the island

- it's not far away from the touristic part, but there is short part of the road missing, so you cannot come through the jungle - and that's the reason why so few come here.

After arrival in hotel, the owner - Dieter - gave us a tour about what you can do in Koh Chang, but during our 4 day long stay there, we didn't manage to see them all. Just so you can make yourself a picture: There are two waterfalls and two elephant villages here, where you can feed them, ride on them and even go swimming with them. (I did all of those and it was wonderful. They are so gentle and lovely. Great creatures. What can I say…take your own towel for the swimming!) There are many monkeys here, and beautiful sand beaches, you can rent a kayak (or have it for free as we did) and go to Ko Phrao Nai or Ko Phrao Nok. There are diving or sailing options, as well as renting a motorbike and making a tour by yourself (It's 200 Baht, but if you take it for longer than a day, you can always negotiate with them.). You

Well, imagine sleeping in room with such a view. Just lovely.
can take a guide and go climb a mountain in the jungle, or see the snake farm… and so I could continue.

But take a look on their website http://www.kochangisland.com/

When leaving we organized the same car with the lady, she really was very nice - as all the Thai are.

It's not easy to leave this place. But I'm looking forward to see Cambodia as well.
