Helly all, or hello all, whatever you desire
So we have left the childrens center, not without a bucket lod of tears and ton of hugs. I thought it was going to be easier since most of the kids left last week for summer holiday, but no, it was still prettycrappy and hard. I just think of what it would have been like if Sombun had have been there. Oh I don't think I wrote about this. Hopefully everybody lremmeber the little boy named Sula who just stole my heart?? Well turns out his name is sombun, little fauxpas there. but anyways I just fell or the little guy, and checked to see if he was unsponsered, since I wanted to get him. but he was. Never was a person so crapped to see that a young poverty stricken child had a sponser. but then Daniel, the web dude, put up new pictures and better ones, and I looked again, and there he was!!!! I just didn't recognize him the first time since the photo was old! So the Kydd fmaily are now the sponsers of Sombun, 8, and his brother Wichai, 11. You can't just leave the bro high and dry can you!?!?!?!? and when I told them, they were ecstatic. Especially sombun since him and I had gotten so close. They literally didn't leave my side the rest of the time they were at the cemter. Fine by me, I was an absolute wreak when they left to go home to the villages! and since that day wa sso hard with so many of the kids going home, I thought it would make leaving the center easier. not so, that was a myth! I cried like crazy and literally dug my sobbing face into kelly's moms armpit. no joke, like a baby. so we tore away from the center , and here we are in chiang mai. there are 300 wats in this town and we're boycotting them. We decided based on our physical and emotional exhaustion that we were going to splurge on a hotel room, a real one. and we did. $17 later we got a fabulous room with clean sheets air con, tv and nice bathroom and a mini bar. and ordered room service...twice!!!!! and lets just say once checked in, we didn't leave the room until a minute before checkout time. it was wonderful, I think I slept for about 75% of the time there. but the next day we went back to our side of the track, back to saggy beds and squeeky fans. But tonight we're out to bangkok on the night train, hopefully meeting up with lauren in the big city, so it'll be sweet to see that gong show again. But anyways, off to find a cafe and veg out, read a little, and all that jazz!!!!
love,
Emily
