We left this morning at about 8 and drove to land where Elephants grazed. The guides assisted everyone in riding the elephants which was a great experience. I road with a couple from Britain, Lauren & Ally who were real cool.
We road the elephant for about 45 minutes up the mountain and fed it bananas along the way. As an aside, the group was great. We had a lot of fun talking about travel, politics, and life. They were very interested in cultural differences and especially politics in the US. They asked questions about guns, clinton & obama, religion to name a few.
We then hiked for 2 hours to a waterfall where we had a chance to jump in the water and cool down a little bit. It was probably 90 degrees and humid. The scenery and conversation helped compensate for the warm weather. We saw many wild animals and picked bananas along the way.
For lunch, we had rice, chicken, vegetables and I drank lots of H20. After lunch, we hiked another 2 hours and stayed in a family's guesthouse which essentially was an open room on top of the mountain with small mats and mosquito nets. There were pigs, chickens, cattle, and dogs running around the little farm. The fdamily cooked us dinner and then we hung out that night, chatted, and the guides played campfire games with us.
The family consisted of a husband, wife, 2 children and 3 or 4 dogs along with the gardens & farm animals for sustaining their nutrition.
I went to bed aroud 9 and we woke up the next day at around 7:30
