Hello all, so heres the second part of my entry to get me up to date again, so we are now in Chang Mai after about 32 hours travelling but now had a good nites sleep and ready for the Sonkram water festival. So should be good.
So anyway i left off with we are on the bus and into Kuala Lumpur we went, stayed again at Wheelers guesthouse a cool little place just by china town, so the friday we went to the circuit as you can walk around the main grandstand and watch the practice laps, but we had to get a bus all the way to the airport and then get picked up there and dropped off at the circuit as the dude forgot to drop us off. Lucky us, so we missed the practice laps but watched the GP2 racing about which was good, and the noise is amazing.
Headed back to the hostel and met a couple of dudes who we was talking to in our Singapore hostel so went for a couple of drinks and a shisha with them. Good fun.
Next day we was up walked around the city for the day,
to the petronas and observation tower and then headed down for the time trials at the Sepang Circuit, was a good day nice weather and the laps were great especially to see Buttton finish on poll. And the noise is crazy. So once it was over we headed back to the main bus depot and as we was nearly there the heavens opened and the thunder and lightning cracked down as we were stranded luckily under a gazebo. So waited for the fork lightning to stop and headed off, was this an omen for 2morrow. ( we all know that answer) So got dropped off at the Petronas towers today and they looked amazing at night all lit up, spent some time walking about here and then headed off home again.
So race day and great weather in the morning, got there on time and the race started, our seats were great could see down the finish line, and most of the circuit as well. And the race was going well until the rain started and the lightning struck and the whole area we was sitting in front of turned into a skid pan, we saw one car on fire
and so many skidding out, was great fun as every1 was cheering at every accident and skid. Then it rained to heavy and they stopped the race and unfortunately the rained eased up just as time on the race run out, which was a shame but still a great race and Jensen Button won so whey. So after we went up to the Jamiroqui concert which was great fun as Dan lifted up the fence and we snuck into the VIP section, so was getting free food and free drink all night, as long as we hid from the security guards anyway. Wat a great day, a crazy F1 and then VIPs at the after race concert. Can life get anybetter???
So the next day we got the bus up to thailand to Had Yai (this is when i left my hat on the bus it had a good life 7months on the road and many countries it was laughed at in) and then another bus over to Surat thani were we stayed the night, also met a Japanese girl called Kimi, the next morning we got the bus and ferry over to Koh phang nang island, got on
back of the taxi truck to Had rin and walk to Leela beach bungalows, where we got a shack on the beach less than 5min walk for the full moon party and cost 400baht a nite. But was a cool place. Just chilled for a couple of days in the sun and then the night of the full moon party came along, had a few warm up drinks with a german guy and 3 swedes which was good fun as it started raining and all the power went out so, we got sum candles and got my ipod out and listen to sum tunes with my speakers. And carried on drinking.
So later we went out to the full moon party and the night gets a little hazy for me as I remember buying a bucket of cocktail and thats about it for at least 4hours, which dan has helpfully filled me in on the blanks.
So got my bucket of cocktail and soon after I realized my wallet was gone, which is a shame as it was the gift for christmas from Summer, but thankfully it only had about 1500baht (30quid) in and i had taken out all my
credit cards and stuff as this is known for happening, especially as there are so many people there so nofink major went missing. So luckily it was not a big loss for me, so we carried on dancing. At first with the Sweedish girls and then later on Me & Dan were dancing with sum Thai girls who painted us in illuminating yellow and red paint, and i sumhow had a hat???
But wat a great nite it was, afterall if you cant remember it then it must be good. haha.
Also i no longer have the hat. : (
So had the day after to recover and then off we set on the 32hr journey, which consisted of Taxi to the port, then the ferry to surat, then the bus to the bus bit, then the bus to Bangkok, then taxi to bus depot as we was told no buses wer runnin to chang mai and they were all full, luckily we found some space so onto the bus we got. Then once in Chang mai Sonkram had arrived as we decided to get a Tuktuk into the city, bad idea we got completely drenched by happy
partying people throwing buckets of water over us and our bags, this is gonna be interesting. And i cant wait.
Which brings me to sitting here now in the Happy house guest house a nice little place and only 330baht for a twin room.
So anyway hope every1 is well back home, i fink its about time me and Dan embraced the festival and bought our water pistols, yep every1 is carrying water pistols. This is warfare to the extreme. hahaha
