Hello!!!
We havent writen for a while as we have been really busy, so i shall attempt a quick update from the last few weeks!
Our Mekong River trip was really good, we saw lots of little islands, got free fruit, tried snake and banana wine (why they call it wine i dont know, i could have fuelled my car with it) and even went to a crocodile farm!!!
We then took the slow boat to Phnom Penn in Cambodia, they dont lie, it really is very slow and there was virtually no breeze on the river so it was VERY sweaty!
We stayed in Phnom Penn for about 3 days i think.... and went to the killing fields, S21 prison, the museum, and some markets. The killing fields and S21 were really depressing, Cambodias history is not so historic... the Khmer Rouge rein only 'ended' in 1980 and the leaders were never really caught. In the killing fields there are still bits of bone and clothing littering the floor, and the S21 prison is full of photos of the victims.
After Phnom Penn we went to Siem Reap where the famous temples of Angkor Wat are.
We spent 2 days looking round the temples with a hired tuk tuk man 'Thomas'! he was nuts, but good fun! Angkor Wat and Siem Reap are expensive!!! (compared to the rest of SE Asia....) so after about a week in Cambodia, we travelled back to Bangkok.
After just 1 day in Bangkok we got the bus up to Chiang Mai where we finally ended up at the local prison (it was only a matter or time....). After the 12 hour over night bus journey, we were both feeling a bit rough, so we decided to get a Thai Massage (which arent all that relaxing... its a bit like having all your muscles stretched beyond their limits, but you end up really flexible) and they have a scheme at the Chiang Mai womens prison where the inmates who are due to be released in 6 months are trained in Thai Massage and the money they earn working is saved for their release! It was all a bit bizarre... the women were lovely though, and a full thai massage costs less than 3pounds...!
Right now i am e-mailing from a cafe without Adam, because he is currently at the
dentists over the road......
He went in yesterday to have his teeth cleaned (dental treatment is really cheap so he was making the most of it...) and the dentist discovered he needs 3 fillings, his teeth coating and possible surgery on one of them...... so having not been to the dentist in about 10 years he's now been twice in less than 24hours!
Tomorrow we are off on a Jungle Trek! Its for 3 days, and theres a fair bit of walking (a few hours each day) but we are also going elephant trekking in the jungle, White water rafting, bamboo rafting, and spending one night in a local tribe village and another at a jungle camp, so hopefully it will be really good!!
Once back from our trek we only have 1 week left!!! Theres lots to do here so i think we will be here for a while, then head back to bangkok for some shopping before we have to fly home!!
I will try and upload some more photos now.
Hope everyone is well, Miss you all,
Love Hann xxxxx

Hi Guys
really good to hear all your travel news - it sounds like you have done so much in the weeks. We had one of those funny fruits you took a picture of once-pink skin and frogspawny inside. I seem to remember it didn't taste that great!!
Enjoy the rest of your trip,
Lots of love Jo xx
Hi Guys Fab write=up and pics. All so awesome, we want to go, especially elephant trekking and all the loical sight-seeing. Seems like you have been gone months!! Miss you, Mum xxxxx
the frog spawny fruits are dragon fruits! and they dont really taste of all that much, but they are good in fruit salads for breakfast! The strange thing is for 6 weeks we have seen the white and black ones, but for the last 3 days the inside fruit has been bright purple, to the point where it dyes other fruit!!! - tastes the same though! xxx
