bit annoyed that fabulous pai was darkened by stupid illness.

in chiang mai now. both of us were pretty sick today, but kim was worse than i was. it was a challenge to get packed and get to the bus station, where we ended up having to wait for 2 hours. we slept on the cement benches. argh. decided to pay more for a mini bus instead of taking the local bus because if there was any time we deserved to splash out on some comfort, it was today!!

arrived in chiang mai, we're staying at smile house. it was once the 'safe house' of infamous shan-chinese opium warlord khun sa, whenever he came to chiang mai. exciting! had a bit of a fuss with all the cockroaches i discovered in our room (4 alive, 4 dead). we switched rooms, other room nicely roach-free.

ran into our british friend thaanjo from the river in pai. i think he's done too much acid in his lifetime, but he's really nice.
