Dear all, Its been weeks since I last wrote, but in the last few weeks I have been building up to my biggest achievement of the whole trip. I mentioned that I have been studying. Three weeks ago I began my Instructor Development Course which got me ready for my exams. Three days ago the Padi Examiners arrived on the island and I sat theory exams, standards exams and then they watched me in the sea and the swimming pool...and this morning I passed! So I am now a Padi diving instructor! My weakest subject was diving physics and Dan spent many hours tearing his hair out because for him physics is a perfectly normal thing and for me it was like learning a whole new language! But I actually managed to get 100% in my ... read more

Hello!! So I feel I must start this entry off by saying that there was a Monkey on my head this morning!! And it stole my hair tie I was able to get it back though :) lol He kept grabbing all of my things and lifting up my skirt and pulling at it hahahaha but that is one thing I can check off of my list of things to do in my life Yay for holding a monkey!! Justin and I are down on Koh Chang and we stayed in a bungalow last nite (3$ each) Across the street was a guest house with a bar and kareoke machine :) The girls there were nice and we started dancing together and singing songs well I only sang one the rest were in Thai lol It ... read more

So, while Matt is busy hosting a crazy stag party in Jersey for his brother who gets married next month, I decided to take a quick detour to Thailand to a bit of a detox on Koh Samui before embarking on our huge adventure. I'm now on day 7 and wow, what an experience. I've never done anything like this before but was inspired by a friend of mine (thanks Jolie!) who did it some years back and really raved about it. In fact it wasn't long after that that we met and I thought at the time, if that's what it takes to look that hot then sign me up! Mind you she did admit to being lured by the pull of the Golden Arches during her stint.... After a quick whistle stop tour of ... read more

Day 337: Monday 1st June - Arriving in Nang Rong unwell Catching the overnight bus from Bangkok to Nang Rong, I broke one of my rules. Usually if a journey is more than 8 hours I will take a night bus and if it is less I will travel during the day. I didn’t realise that the journey to Nang Rong would be so short - 5 hours - which after leaving Bangkok at 11pm, puts my arrival in Nang Rong during the middle of the night. Not my best bit of planning, that’s for sure. The bus journey on one of the government buses is uncomfortable and with the air-con cranked up to the max and the lights coming on at regular intervals, akin to trying to get some sleep in a fridge! I must ... read more

So after a few days in Bangkok, we all headed out to Koh Chang for a few days. It happened to co-incide with my Birthday, so a few buckets may have been had. Our wonderful friend Steve sprung for a night for us in a 4Star Hotel and we found ourselves staying there for 4 or 5 days. Its hard to say no to a little luxury after so many hard beds! Not to mention the 2 pools connected with a granite slip-in-slide!... read more

So, March 3rd 2009. I have told my new school that I am not able to start until March 9th, so I have 6 days to play with, and I decide to take another trip to Thailand. I would have loved longer, but the Korean school term had already started, so I flew out for 6 days, for £200 return. Waking up to pouring rain in Seoul was not great, but I knew that I would be getting out of it soon. I had to get myself to the airport bus stop, but the rain was really really bad (it hasn't really rained at all this winter in Seoul .... they save all the rain for the summer monsoon season I think!!!!). So I charged down to the stop clad in a poncho!! It felt really ... read more

Koh Tao From Bangkok we took another night train down to Chumpon, on the east coast of Thailand. This time we were not so lucky and all the sleepers had been sold out, as well as all other decent seats on the train. We got seats in third class, one up from cattle class. The journey was a very uncomfortable, cold and dirty experience, not so good when you've got bronchitus! We arrived at Chumpon early the following morning and jumped straight on a ferrry to the island of Koh Tao which took about three hours. The first couple of days on Koh Tao we spent in the south, which is the more quite part of the island, in order for me to get well. After two days recovering, we hired a moped and relocated to ... read more

Hej Alle. ... read more
