some updates

So I haven't written in a while because the hotel where I am staying "in Ban Phe" for our program, is actually pretty far outside the city. Therefore I have NO access to internet...unless I take a 10 minute ride on the back of a songthao (pick-up truck taxi) and then a 10 minute motorbike ride!!

So so far I have been having a fantastic time in the program. We have class Monday - Friday, 9-5 and on Saturday morngings for three weeks. The classes are teaching us how to teach English, giving us ideas for lesson plans, going over Grammar and Phonology, and allowing us to practice teaching before we actually get set up with a job. THey are all quite helpful. Plus, these classes are taking place in a Buddhist temple and we get to practice teaching the monks!! I actually haven't gotten the chance yet to teach the monks, that will come later...but I'm kind of nervous. I'm sure it will be a lot of fun though.

I also recently found out where my teaching placement will be. I will be teaching fifth graders English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Health in a school in Chonburi, which is right on the coast between here and Bangkok. I'm actually kind of excited to be teaching such a range of classes...especially Social Studies. I think it will be a lot more interesting.

Anyway, I've pretty much used all of my minutes on this computer, so I have to run. Hopefully I'll be able to write more updates later:)
