Today was Muay Thai Boxing Wednesday. Chef wanted to show us traditional fusion modern Thai Boxing. Normally there is a free show outside of MBK in Bankok on Wednesdays at 6pm. We left school early and had 3 hours to spare. We got to the MBK and boxing was cancelled because it was going to rain and the fight goes on outside. Chef went home and my new classmate Scott and I decided to take advantage of the fact that movies are just 100THB on Wednesdays at MBK. We watched the new movie Trasformers 4 at the MBK theater which if you haven't seen it I highly recommend it to the trasfonrmers fans. By the time we exit the movies it was just about to be sunset, perfect time to head over our next destination, another roof top bar: Baiyoke.
We walked to the Baiyoke Hotel from MBK. It was not a straight shot because there is a canal that crosses thru and all the malls in the middles. So we still had to get out to the surroundings to get to it. We could see it but we had to go back on our steps a few times.

Museum in the observatory deck on the 77th Floor Baiyoke tower is the highest building in Thailand where you can enjoy the spectacular view of Bangkok and beyond the metropolis, up to the Gulf of Thailand. Maps, computerized multimedia kiosks and coin-activated telescopes help you identify what is laying 250 meters down below your feet. It is a touristic attraction like the Empire State or the Eiffel Tower.
On the 77th floor there is the observation deck an extra option to the observation deck is the revolving view point at the 84th floor from where you have a marvelous view over the city and you can even see as far as the Gulf of Thailand. The entire 77th floor offers 360 degree view and it's a museum and it is completely surrounded by glass which is not good for photos.
The 84 floor is open no glass but it was a wire net with spaces wide enough to allow people to take photographs. Once a year there is a race up the 84th floors the fastest has been about 12 minutes. To see a rough video of the revolving deck check the video. Sorry its shaky but the platform was shaky.

Color changing chairs. I forgot to mention the drinks and appetizers are very reasonable prized. 150 for a beer 200 for a reg cocktail. a ticket for the restaurant which includes dinner and a view or if you just want to enjoy the view you can just buy a ticket for the observation deck.
The ticket comes with a drink and it is 300 THB between 1000 and 1800 and 400 THB after 1800 to 2200. Last time to allow people in is 2130 but you are allowed to stay until 2230. The dinner is a little over 1300 THB and it’s a seafood buffet in the 76
floor. If you book a room directly on their website you can find 50%!p(MISSING)romotions and free upgrades with stays of more of 3 nights.
The hotel is located in an Indian neghboorhood great place for somosas, Indian curries, kebabs and also Greek Gyros. A great mix if you want to get out of Thailand within Bangkok and try different culinary traditions at a small restaurants along different hallways. The streets have a lot happening at night and the prices are right. There are hourly shuttles that will deliver you to the surrounding BTS stations but we decided to walk. That was a bad Idea. The gps lead us to a very dark railway

Victory Monument in the distance under the airport railway. Nothing happening but it was the first time that I saw noone in a dark alley. Within five minutes we were taking probably one of the last skytrain on the way to each of our houses. It was a good night. And I wish I can go back and try any of the different gyros I saw spinning around.

We enjoyed our one day cooking class in Thailand. You've really been fortunate to learn many dishes. We also enjoyed the Thai boxing experience.
