I have nothing but amazing things to say about Jungle Way, the guest house I stayed at for over a week on Koh Chang Island.

Lek the owner is a Koh Chang local who genuinely cares about his guest house and the residents. While volunteering at the Koh Chang Animal Foundation, I stayed at Jungle Way (away from the Tourist strip of White Sand Beach). Here Lek and his friends and family did everything they could to make everyone's stay enjoyable. From their laid back atmostphere, wonderful food, and beautiful jungle surroundings... the place was perfect for me.
I went on an amazing 1/2 day Trek with Lek (in my other blog), had cooking lessons from his mom, and spent a day with Lek getting to know the island more... this day we went to visit a shrimp farm he used to work at (he took me here when he found out I used to work at a Seafood counter), we went to several different fishing villages, a beautiful Mangrove reserve, saw some temples, and also stopped to check out mass production fisherman, hard at work. On top of all the things Lek and I did, he
would also go out of his way each day to take me to White Sand Beach, when I needed to use the internet (this was a 15 min drive up some steep and windy hills).
Staying at Jungle Way, allowed me to meet a handful of interesting and unique people who have definitely changed my life. Some of my favorites were:
The English family that was living in Bangkok... Because the husband is an International teacher, he is able to teach and live with his family in a new country every two years. The last place they lived was Egypt. He had a 14 year old daughter, and 6 year old son, who were amazing!
Next was the young Canadian guy who is currently teaching English in Taiwan. He has been living and teaching there with his girlfriend for the past two years (they are classroom neighbors) and they love it!... he told me stories of how him and his girlfriend have been rescuing and adopting animals :)
And my favorite person Lek... I feel honored to have met Lek, and been able to become friends with him. I have learned a lot from him, and
hope to see him again someday.

Uhhh...Yea. Like I'm gonna find that ingredient at home. hahahaa. There was a slight problem. Lek's mom didn't speak ANY English. So we kinda just used sign languages, giggles, and eye contact. I think it w
