While most of the time we're simple idiots resting in or near the water, we've taken two very fun adventures around Koh Chang. One, a full day snorke trip, took us to 5 islands on a speed boat (no long boats on this island) where each dip into the water was more delightful than the last. Without a doubt, this was the best snorkeling of our lives. One island (Koh Rang ) had such clear water there seemed no limit to the visability. See the picture showing the light aqua shallows bumping up against the deep blue deeper waters. Fish everywhere...nothing large but all very colorful.
On another island it was the coral garden, where we loved the giant clams - of all different collors and shapes. They look like beautiful yonis open and lucsious - and when a finger or object approaches - they shrink back and contract again. Hopefully we will have pictures to show you....
Another day we took the scooter around the island toward Long Beach which is a hilly, rough ride. We had initially wanted to go here when we arrived but were advised that it would be difficult to get there (especially at
night) and we discovered that they were right. We stopped at a waterfall along the way and when we finally arrived, it was a total backpacker scene. Very chill. Simon sat on the beach playing djembe to accompany a fabulous didgeridoo player and loved the whole vibe.
We're starting to think about moving on. Soon. Maybe. And now our direction is pointing towards Laos. We'll see.
Monkey IslandDon't know the islands actual name, but we stopped here to feed them and they came racing down from the trees.
Motor Scooter MadnessOkay, this is pretty fun. Simon carries his precious cargo with care and purpose. We zip around this little island...very free feeling!

I am dreaming of water that incredibly clear, beaches that glorious, air that warm and fragrant, and of course, the time to soak it all in. I want to be where you are.
Big love,
Tricia
I know it's a disappointment that we (the 4 of us) can't get together before March... but we'll make an exception. Can you meet us in Laos next week?
Wouldn't that be a gas?
Enjoy yourselves. See you soon.
Love,
T & S
