So made it to Bangkok in one piece! Bangkok isn't what I expected at all, it's a lot cleaner and nicer than I was expecting. Certainly after Mumbai anywhere is nicer! Mumbai airport was not a pleasant experience.
Arrived there with 8 hours until my flight to Bangkok to be told that I couldn't enter the building until 2-3 hours before your flight! I was then hassled by a couple of taxi drivers offering to take me to a hotel for ' cheap price' I declined and plonked myself down on the kerb ( no waiting areas) wondering what to do for the next 6 hours, especially that it would be dark in an hour or so. Shortly after that a fellow backpacker sat beside me and after striking up a conversation I discovered that she was German and had been told the same as me and had the same amount of time to wait so we agreed to stick together and brave a rickshaw to Mumbai to eat. We sat around for another 30 minutes before I noticed on the departure board that our flights had check in desk numbers so decided to investigate if we could go in or not. Of course we could! So we said cheerio and went our separate ways. So somehow managed to while away 7 hours before boarding the plane at 2am arriving in Bangkok at 5:30. After a much needed coffee I took the bus to Bangkok and landed into the first guest house I saw. In comparison to everywhere I have stayed so far this place is like a five star hotel, air con, proper sheets, hot shower and breakfast included, cheaper than the place I stayed in my first night in Goa and it had none of that and cockroaches!
Had a fabulous day today which I will tell you about tomorrow. Now I'm off for a fitting for the silk top that I'm having made(bargain!) and then I'm going to a cabaret show(lady boys and all that jazz)

so more later ( plus pics) prepare for temple overload!

Well, Im 33 and have finally decided enough talking about it and just do it...in 12 days time I'm heading off to Goa, Thailand and Australia via London ( in the snow) I am traveling alone so obviously have some anxieties and concerns but also am so excited about what may happen, where I'll go and what I'll see. So I want to keep this blog as a record of my travels, a way of keeping friends and family up to date with what I'm up to etc but also as an outlet for the good, bad and ugly times...... full info

A unified Thai kingdom was established in the mid-14th century. Known as Siam until 1939, Thailand is the only Southeast Asian country never to have been taken over by a European power. A bloodless revolution in 1932 led to a constitutional monarchy....more info
