So the song goes.. Bangkok's the dodgiest city I've ever been to. It's nice to see all these exotic and weird things around you. But I think one night here is more than enough...for me at least...
We arrived in Bangkok probably at 5am. The bus dropped us off somewhere along a 6-lane highway. Not knowing where we were....we looked like lost lambs. Bloody tuk-tuk drivers tried to cheat us by making us pay for a ride to Khao San Rd, which we found out later was a mere 5 min walk away. Stubbornness paid off...we insisted on finding our own way there and ignored the drivers. They're real pain !! (Tip: cabs are sometimes cheaper than tuk-tuks in Bangkok)
Imagine the worst case scenario when travelling: you havent made any bookings for accommodation, you arrive in the wee hours, you walk for hours lugging your bag searching for a room but to no avail, everywhere you go hotels are fully booked, the last time you slept in a room was 3 nights ago, you body is filthy and you stink, you are so goddamn tired you might pass out anytime, but you have to spend another 4 hours
on the streets of dodgy Bangkok and wait for check-out time. Well, we went through that and survived. So what's next? Wrestling a croc in a leech-infested swamp? No actually wrestling a ladyboy wud be scary !!
p/s ND: we're even memba??!! u gave my bag to your gf !! and i already paid for it !! and really liked it as well !!
