Wat temple?

Today was a fun filled day as we hit to the main tourist scene. Though was a tad crazy on the way to the city center we did come across a camodo dragon quite happily swimming along!!! We braved it and took a toktok to the main strip, as much as we feard for our lives this is definatly the way to travel, and also gave me a chance to use my amazing negotiation powers.

We first hit Wat Po, which considering the tuktuk driver claimed it was closed was open for business?? It was peaceful to walk around and some of the statues were quite entertaining. But it wasnt until we saw the size of the reclining buddah, it was ridiculously large and had to be a good 60meters long, thats alot of gold.

Then we crossed over to see the Grand Palace, where the emerald buddah is kept. Now again once to our astonishment after a guard had told us is was closed for buddah day, it was open?? Im getting the feeling gingers arent welcome here. This was AMAZING. It literally is bling central. EVERYTHING is gold plated and gems galore. I was tempted to knife a few loose but aparently the guys with the loaded M16 wouldnt of been impressed. The whole grouds were guarded by a room of around 12 army men and a rack full of M16, not the kind of place you want to break the rules. We saw the emerald buddah but arent allowed to picture him, but thanks to my amazing camera skills I snuck in a cheeky picture.

After walking through the royal garden and seeing the biggest cat fish and snapping turtles we headed towards Koh San road. This is tourist central and where we were confident enough to order some food. We booked out tickets to Koh Chang which were amazingly cheaper compared to the price quoted by tourist information, by a whole 1560b!!!

Well better shoot got an early start tomorrow off to our first island!!! We will update you when we next can but not sure I will be bothered when lying on a stunning beach.
