Will we landed in Bangkok with no Map or Travel Guide, which wasn't ideal so was on the list of priorities. Th hotel receptionist directed us to the Skytrain so we could go to the weekend market,
Chatuchak, in Bangkok. We started to walk in the direction she had told us, through the heavily polluted and busy streets (though somehow still interesting to be walking around). A Tuk-Tuk driver collared us and asked where we were going. At first we were wary of him because we had be warned they charge you alot and take you where they want to. However this guy was keen to help us and told us a quicker route to the Skytrain, instead of walking the 3 km the hotel lady had directed us. We started to walk, then felt lost so started talking to a german lady, who looked like she knew where she was going. She was also heading to the skytrain to go the Market, and had been given different directions all together. Eventually we all decied to get a Tuk-tuk together to the Skytrain, and from then on found it easy to get to the market. Chatuchak was well worth the visit. It was absolutley massive and very very cheap (which was good as we had no money left).
After finishing here we made our way through the city and on a river taxi to
Wat Pho - the Temple of the reclining Buddha. This temple is home to a reclining gold plated Buddha that is 46 meters long and 15 meters high - very impressive. As we left here we spent half hour talking to a very drunk con-man/Tuk-tuk driver, realising his trickery we headed to the backpacker centre
Khao San Road, where we had an explore and our tea.
Before heading back to the hotel we visited
Pat Pong for a rather unpleasant experience, so we left this area swiftly.
