Hello, Aujourd'hui c'est jour de fête. On célèbre l'anniversaire du Roi et c'est un jour férié ici. On ne badine pas avec le Roi. C'est aussi pour moi l'occasion de tester un nouveau mode de transport, le bus (équivalent du car chez nous, à ne pas confondre avec les bus de ville). Je disais donc jour de fête en Thaïlande et jour de dé-fête pour moi... Hier soir, assis bien sagement à la terrasse d'un bar, je terminais mon post précédent ainsi que ma bière lorsqu'un inconnu m'aborda. "Are you alone?" me demanda-t-il. "Yes??? Salut à tous. Ça y est, je repose mes fesses sur un vélo! La dernière fois que j'ai fait du vélo, ça devait être il y a 2 ans à Madagascar. Mais bon, c'est comme le vélo, ça ne s'oublie pas (lol), sauf que petit détail, ici on est en Thaïlande et en Thaïlande, on roule à gauche... Merci, messieurs les Anglais! A vrai dire, pas trop de souci pour s'adapter sauf que prendre les ronds-points par la gauche, çà fait quand même bizarre et l'histoire des priorités, je ne l'ai toujours pas comprise. Je me la suis joué à je suis un touriste en vélo et je suis prioritaire et ça a fonctionné mais ça ne me dit toujours pas qui est prioritaire... Podczas pobytu w Azji, prawie zawsze, mamy podobną refleksję. Ten rejon mógłby być najpiękniejszym miejscem na ziemi, i prawie nim jest, gdyby nie było tu tak... po azjatycku. Jednak może na tym właśnie polega magia tego miejsca? Po, nie wykraczających poza granice miejscowego, standardowego, chaosu, porannych kłopotach ze skompletowaniem pełnego składu busa, którym miejscowe biuro podróży zabierało nas do Ayuttayah, wyruszyliśmy w ponad godzinną drogę. Drogę by zobaczyć zabytek, który wpisany został na Światową Listę Dziedzictwa Ludzkości, czyli to co pozostało po zniszczonym w XXVIII w. królestwie będącym wówczas stolicą regionu o powierzchni porównywalnej do Francji i Anglii razem wziętych. UNESCO z racji wpisu na swoją listę zajmuje się tym miejscem w dość specyficzny sposób. Ale o tym zaraz. Bangkok: Ayutthaya & Kanchanapuri The hotel I was staying was away from the center of Bangkok. So I had to get a taxi to the collection point for the tour before 0630hrs. The tour group left the city around 0730hrs. After a two hour drive we arrived at Ayutthaya. Before we got to the Bang Pa-in palace we visited a couple of pagodas which were constructed in the late 13th century but destroyed and reconstructed after Thailand's war with Burma (Myanmar). On the way one could notice a lot of new, what looks like beautiful ornate pagodas which we were told were actually crematoriums. After breakfast at Pong Phen guesthouse we sadly left and headed to the bus station. Our journey to our next destination wasn't going to be straight forward. We caught the 9:30am rickety old bus out of Kanchanaburi, a 2 hour ride costing 50B each which took us half way to Suphanburi. We then had to get a connecting minivan at Suphanburi to take us the rest of the way, 80B each, which had air con and was more comfortable. We were pleased with the upgrade!! It was 2:30pm by the time we got to Ayutthaya. We found our accomodation "Tony's Place" easily, just a stones throw from where we got dropped off.
