MAY 23rd:
Here I am in Taipei.
I finally found a hotel, a really nice one too, but its costing me 60 bucks a night. 60 bucks that I don't have to spend. There's a condom by my night stand. Makes me wonder what kind of hotel this is... Seems nice enough though.
I tried to call this guy Steven here and the operator keeps coming on to speak Mandarin. I tried to call my mom and all I hear is beeping.
I think the constant travel is finally having a effect on me. I need to slow down, because I'm getting burnt out.. I've been feeling nauseated all day. The travel, jet lag and weather/food changes have caught up to me. I'm exhausted.
PS: No matter how much I complain, I'm still having the greatest time. I've been wanting to do this my whole life and I finally get to live my dream.
MAY 24th:
I ended up meeting up with my mom's friend Steven and his family. They were such amazing people, they took me around the whole city and even bought me Taiwanese food. The food was so good, except for the stinky
tofu. Its basically a fermented tofu, either deep fried or mixed with goose blood, sold by street vendors. The smell is basically sewers with a bit of dirty socks on the side. Its supposed to taste very good, but I couldn't get past the smell.
We went to the National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and the National Palace Museum today.
Built in 1908, by the japanese The National Museum is the oldest in Taiwan.
