Somehow I managed to get past the equator of my little Korean ordeal...
The week went fast, between classes and homework. On Tuesday we met the "head of the Korean Society" of Surrey University, who is from Seoul; he took us to the Aquarium and then invited us for dinner; it was a great afternoon!.
I loved the aquarium, there were so many fish!... it made me want to jump into the tank and dive with them; and then we saw a couple of divers doing some cleaning in the sardine tank... oh man was I jealous?; I'm so looking forward to Majorca!.
Then the University took us to Jeon-Ju for a weekend trip with expenses paid: transport, accommodation and food... not bad!.
We left on Saturday early in the morning, under heavy rain, for a 3 hour bus ride to Jeon-Ju Hanok village; there we walk around, had lunch and participate in the "compulsory" activities the University had arrange for us; we had to choose from: wedding, tea ceremony, cooking, martial arts and music instruments. I chose tea ceremony and it was quite interesting, I kept thinking that if in England they would have to do
divers / buceadores
I was so jealous! / me dieron una envidia! all that to have a "cuppa" then tea would be less popular!.
We had a really nice "traditional Korean dinner", where I ate some cold noodles and decided I didn't like them... only to find out it was actually jelly fish!
We stayed in a nice hotel with buffet breakfast (Western style and, after 3 weeks of having only Korean food, it was very welcome!). Then on Sunday it was bus again to visit Naesosa Temple and the Saemangeum Seawall: "the biggest dike of the World". It takes about an hour to drive from side to side.
Now that I have been through more than half of my stay here, I think of how sad I was at the beginning and I'm glad I didn't go back home! (even though I'm looking forward to the 31st to go back!)
La semana se pasó rápida entre clases y deberes. El martes conocimos al "Presidente de la Sociedad Coreana" de mi Universidad en Surrey, que es de Seúl;
