I'm residing in a college dorm for the next 9 days... It feels like frosh year all over again! I even get a roommate. She is super nice and we are headed to the same region. Woot! My flight was smooth and safe (Hollar for Singapore Air). There has been a lot of waiting around and I did my first set of currency exchange in San Francisco Int'l airport... Everything feels familiar. On the flight I sat next to a guy from Quebec. We spoke French and spoke for about 1/2 of the flight, which is an impressive 6 hours. Everyone has been helpful and I am making contacts. I am exhausted though. Also, I have a better understanding now about why expats seek out other expats. It good to stay grounded as long as I don't continue a dependency on English. PS- I saw my first Starbucks on the bus ride to campus... I've learned to read Korean already, which is bomb fo sho. Well, I just wanted to give a shout out from Seoul... Peaces.

I'm so glad you arrived safely and are settling in. Must be a bit weird sting at a dorm... and a roommate! Roommates can be fun... a built in friend! I imagine learning Korean is a challenge sine the written language is so different from English/French. Good for you to taking to it so well. I tried Japanese for a bit and that was challenging. I could get the spoken language better, but that was difficult too. Total immersion is the best way to go to learn a language. XOXO Nett
