Aidan and I walked everywhere. At least, it felt like it. We headed out at 10:30 am. First, we went by City Hall where some huge bicycle rally thing was going on. Next, we went to a Palace that was ridiculously huge. I want a Palace. Doesn't have to be all that big. Just a few acres and I'll be happy. What else...um...the air here is more dry hot than humid hot so I was really thirsty and my skin felt really dry. We walked down this popular market area and came across an event which was advertising something but we have no idea what. It was, however, giving out free ice cream/popcorn/water/coffee/tea so we went. It was great. No one was evening hassling and marketing things to our faces. Some operatic music was playing in the background and surprisingly, it was super busy. The lines moved steadily. We were even able to get an ice cream before heading out on our walk again.
We walked along the 'big little river' as Aidan likes to call it and waited until his friend Nigel to confirm a meeting time. We were supposed to meet at 1pm but didn't end up together until 6pm! lol. Anyways, we had some Korean food. It was a big bowl of something. I'll post a picture later.
After dinner, we walked some more. Aidan's girlfriend took the bus down to meet us. When she did, we continued the walk. Got some fruit smoothies (so good Smoothie King) and just wandered. Got back to the apartment around 10:30pm. My right leg is a bit achey at the moment.
Somewhere in there we ended up in the shopping district. The open concept of the stores is weird. I went in a small North Face store and to look at the shoes, I either had to go behind the counter or move a mirror. I moved the mirror. I guess that was the wrong move and that the 'barrier' was set up for a reason because before I knew it, the salesguy came up and said in a not-so-nice tone, 'Can I help you?'. I said, 'No, just looking thanks' to which his reply was, "Out, now." What am I supposed to do? Ask him to bring every item to me so I can see it? It was really weird.
Oh, I also went to a washroom in this restaurant and couldn't figure out how to flush as there was many buttons with Korean directions. I pressed one and heard a wind sound which was the ventilation. I pressed another and water came out some tubing around the bowl rim and got my top all wet!! (I quickly but the seat cover down before attempting more buttons. I pressed another and heard more water. Finally I got the flusher button. It was the big silver one that was NOWHERE close to the electronic keypad. I felt so dumb. By the time I left the stall, it looked like it had thunderstormed. Don't make fun of me.
