Yesterday was a blur. I have been awake, but asleep or like a robot. It has been a mad rush to get information. Information about India, information about Gyeongju, Samcheok, and Palgong Mountain…
On Tuesday I rocked it at school and then around lunch time my friends came. We walked around and saw some of the students. We told them that we were going to have a free talk time. A group of about 15 students came to talk… 3 first years and about 12 second years. It was awesome. I was so impressed with the students. Then we took a tour with Moon teacher of the school. We met the principal and vice principal. Then we rushed off to class. I had invited Jamie, Reed, and Rachel.
In class we broke the students up into four groups and then sat around and had conversation time about four different topics: eating, travel, hobbies, and dreams (the future)... The students were all participating and it felt great. There was a lot of laughing and the 50 minute class flew by.
After that we went to the yoga room. My co-teacher reccomended us go when I told him that I wanted them to mee the nutritionist. When we walked in four teachers were in the middle of a yoga series. We joined in. It was funny and cool. We finished the class and the teachers asked where my friends were planning on travelling to. I told them Gyeongju and a mad flurry of talking commenced. It was awesome. We were at last invited to join them for dinner. The teachers treated us to traditional Korean food (Dwenjang Chigae and Bori bap and dong dong ju)... It was delicious. We laughed more and had fun talking or trying to mix languages...
Then the nutritionist drove us to the yoga studio. I had an hour to warm-up and then I taught body design. Jamie, Rachel, and Reed joined the class. It was crazy having 2 Koreans and 5 foreigners in the class. There ratio is usually reversed... We did a pretty basic series and just focused on holding poses and breathing into them. The sweat was flowing. We took the bus home afterwards.
We ventured to Paris Baguette in search of grain bread (rye white is my posion)... They didn't have it so we ended up at the Happy Bakery near my house. They only had a huuuuuge loaf of white bread, but we invested and went for it. We also headed to the local grocery store. We bought some fruit and drinks.
After that we headed home. I did a load of laundry and we talked till we passed out. It was a great night...
Yesterday (Wednesday)... was an attempt at being productive. I mailed a package, put away my laundry, bought some delicious bread and read more of the book "Three Cups of Tea." I had sent my friends to climb Palgong mountian in Daegu. It was extraordinarily windy yesterday and cloudy. I felt bad as soon as I realized the weather, but when they came back they only had happy and epic adventures to recount. Sounded awesome. We looked at pictures, they drank soju, and then I passed out while they continued their party...
I think I want to head to Palgong mountian next weekend. I should organize a climb on Sunday...
