I went on a field trip to the education institute in An-dong, south Korea.
I went there to experience the korean traditional culture-how to be a true gentle man(woman) by Confucian educational way, experience An-dong mask dance in an assembly hall and watch old text books, historical remains in the attached small museum at this institute-. these mainly are traditions of Choseon period in Korea history. these traditions can't be found in ordinary life of korean in the present time. the first was disappeared clearly in korean society, the second is played by some artists until now. as the time flew, text books must be changed. old text books are written by chinese letters. some text books are written by Japanese(when the Japanese ruled Korea). the text books in korean letters are made after the recovery from the Japanese' rule and the korean war.
In my opinion, the Korean culture in the present time is the mixture of the chinese culture, Japanese culture and the American culture. It's tragedy. Ironically, Korean haven't their own unique custom, social system. especially, in the field of public and private education in Korea, we, korean follow the way of America and Japan without

pass judgement. I have a doubt about this stream of times in Korea. someone could said to me "you look like a nationalist" about my opinion.
As an educator in south korea, I think that It is more important to recover korean culture than to follow and copy American, Japanese culture without pass judgement.
