My computer is completely dead, so I'm currently typing on my roomates tiny slovakian computer... spelling and grammatical errors are definitely to follow!
Ok a lot has been happening and I haven't been able to update, so here goes catching up on what feels like the last 20 years of my life....
Tom wanted to check out wavehouse where you can ride man made waves. He brought his skateboard along, so while he was surfing I was getting lessons off the local skater kids on the finer points of skating (still no career for me there!) great backdrop to learn though, surrounded by ocean and bars :)
The night before we had been there for the Billabong pro tournament (saw how to really do it!) and then Tom dinked me on his board home... it's nowhere as easy as it sounds, Kids don't try to ride tandem after a few drinks..
Sunday swung around so it was jetski time again. pizza and pasta ordered from the restaurant to take out onto the boat. Since it was a pretty quiet day the marine police kept hassling us so we couldn't get as many good rides in as we
wanted. The guys we usually go out with usually take care of the police and our lack of licences. But they were on a trip to Indonesia that day :(
right before Luanes goodbye dinner on Monday, Jana and I went and played guitar in a quiet park. after 20 mins of playing we had quite a crowd (next time I'll put a hat out!!! :P) the dinner was arranged by Roy who booked us in for a really yummy mexican restaurant on the river at Clarke Quay. We shared crazy amounts of food and tried every flavour of margarita.
Afterwards we headed to a jazz bar in Holland village, then everyone in the music vibe headed over to Leko's place for the infamous rock band on ps3. good times. although i realised I was the only native english speaker amongst 11 or so different languages and dialects... way to make me feel stupid!
Wednesday was my housemate Chris's birthday. We all went to Le Noir in typical model style and drank champagne to celebrate. The prince of Malaysia is pretty good friends with Tom and Chris, so he came down for the night to party with us.
He's a really sweet person, but was followed around by discreet bodyguards the whole time!
I had a show in a shopping centre for Shu Uemura makeup brand. there were 8 of us girls getting our makeup done live on stage for some competition (not really paying attention) my makeup artist was an Aussie like me, so we got along really well. The makeup was pretty wild, but we had to catch the train home. all 5 of us (who live in the same apartment block) were scaring people on the trains.. their own fault for staring so damn hard! On the way home (scary makeup intact) I bumped into another Aussie that I'd met at the F1 a few weeks before. I was surprised he could even recognise me. turns out we live down the road from each other. cool!
I had a casting and I was the only non-brasillian in the group. it's funny because the clients seemed to think I was brasillian, only because i was yelling at one of the boys in portuguese. this group is like a little family. they all stick together and are very caring of each other. Love them!
One of my friends from home, Adam, is working here for Universal, so I met up with him and his friends along Clarke Quay (easiest place to recognise!) It was really great to see a familiar face and hear the accent... hallelujah :) Jana and I then went to Spize to eat dinner, with everyone msging and calling us to see where we had dissapeared to. We assured them we'd be back asap.
It was a pre halloween party so there were a few people in costumes, but some guys must have had a little too much to drink and got rowdy, poor Adam had to break up the fight, then stand between me and the guys so that they wouldn't accidently knock me.
I promised him that it wasn't always like this! welcome to singapore!! :P
Mike, Dave, Bertie (NZ) and Tom were all at Attica speaking english... ahh heaven. really starting to get lazy with the languages here.. I apologise my non native english speaking friends!
The weekend had come around yet again. So it was of course Jetski time. My final jetski day before I leave :( Vig took Jana, Yvonne, Marina, Juan and I out
on the boat for a quiet day out, we were waiting at the marina for half an hour for his friend, before he got fed up and tossed me the keys to the jetski, giving me the honour to drive it out to the islands. just as we were pulling out, his friend arrived. But he told him that I was here first yay!!!!!! We sped over to the islands (it's a long drive and really takes it out of you, ducking and weaving in amongst the huge ships)
We had some NZ wines and pizza on the boat. Jana and I got a little crazy on the jetski (my bad) and I managed to cut my foot and hand. and bruise my knee and god forbid my face!!! I have a shoot on tuesday for the cover of a health and fitness magazine, and I look like I've just stepped out of a war zone (or at the least a really bad relationship!!)
We drove the boat and ski over to Sentosa and watched "songs of the sea" from the sea :) It's a sound and light show done with lasers and fireworks, it was very pretty and surreal
sitting on the boat watching fireworks and listening to the music pumping from azzura.
The boat started spewing smoke so Vig had to jump in the water and clear the copious amounts of seaweed that had gotten stuck in the rotor...
We went back to one degree 15 and ordered a feast of food, with 9 desserts amongst 6 people. now this i what i call heaven!
My last sunday in Singapore, Jana and I went to check out the Charles and Keith (really trendy shoe and handbag brand) outlet store in Anchor point. after waiting an hour for a bus we were just about to grab a taxi when it finally came. The wait was not worth it... the outlet stores do not rival Melbournes!!!
For one last time I went to Azzura to eat their pasta, dance to the incredibly good music (prog and beach trance.. wonderful!) and see all my friends.
It was a sad day, I hate leaving. But thats always a sign of a great trip, if you make friends for life you're always going to feel sad at the airport.
That night I went to the brasillians apartment and we played music on
the guitar until 6am. Reall who needs sleep when you're having this much fun!?
Once I'm settled back home I'll add all the pics from these nights.... :)
