Just arrived in Singapore Airport. That and the one in Bangkok have been maybe the fanciest airports I have seen so I'm feeling a little out of place in my travelling gear and walking boots which I annoyingly have to wear on all flights because they're so bulky. Air Asia was cramped but very efficient. People hadn't even finished taking their seats when it begain moving. It was basically a nice bed in the sky for me though. looking forward to going back to my hotel and having a hot shower for the first time in weeks and then going to bed and exploring the city.
The rest of my time at the wildlife centre was a lot of fun. The atmosphere changed quite a bit, I think mainly because a lot of Brits all happened to arrive so this increased the rowdiness a tad. Everyone was awsome though so it was sad saying goodbye again. We had a lot more late nights and nights out and about. The final one in Cha-Am was particularly fun. We found a Western restaurant and then a club that had a pretty poor band but they were interspersed with a good DJ and we all had a good dance. However all of the late nights and 6 oclock starts have left me pretty out of it by today and much travelling hasn't helped. It's weird, it's like being jet-lagged but there is only a one hour time difference between here and Thailand.
So yeah, what else has been going on recently? We jumped off a big bridge into a river. That was soo good, propper adrenaline nrush and what not. But my thighs got bitch-slapped by the water because I didn't really give much thought to how I was going to land. Don't know if bridge jumping is the safest activity but everyone else was doing it and the water seemed fairly deep.
I'll say a bit more about the elephants perhaps. There were 3 normal lady elephants who had all been rescued from tourism and traffic accidents. THey were lovely and slow and gentle. One, Kyota, who had a glass eye, was very dominant though and wouldn't let the others eat mangoes even if she was too full to eat them herself. But she was very funny and looked like an old lady. There was an old lady, Pailin who was just so saggy and lived on her own on top of a hill (verrry hot up there). She's over 60 and even more gentle. But the 2 babies were my favourites. They're about 5 I believe and really act like children. THey love grabbing your feet and hands and rolling on the floor or climbing on each other or just bounding around. Filling up their water tub thing was the most fun because they'd play with the hose, trying to grab it off you and then suck the water out and they'd amuse themseleves with their own trunks by blowing bubbles with them. There was also a sweet but rather picky and stroppy pony called Sam. I enjoyed being with horses again and walking him.
I'm going to go though because I am worried I won't get my luggage back otherwise.
