Singapore Stu-dles

Our first day in Singapore was spent waiting for our bag to play catch up and trying to stay awake. We were staying in Little India, so spent some of the day walking around, trying some of the spicy cuisine on offer and admiring the mosques and Hindu temples.

The next day we were lucky enough to be taken around the town by an old friend of Stuart’s parents. He picked us up from our hostel, took us lunch/dinner and to see the Christmas lights in Orchard Road, as well as a drive through China Town.

The following day and feeling a bit less jet lagged we made our way over to the Colonial area and to the Asian Civilisations Museum. We got to see lots of statues, weapons, jewelry and artworks from all over the Asian continent, as well as find out some of the history of Singapore. There was also a special exhibition on Indian cloth, and how it is made, which had lots of examples on display. We then went to visit the Merlion and got a lovely view of the Colonial area at night, before heading to China town to have a look round by foot.

We spent the rest of our time sleeping, eating or doing a bit of shopping before heading off to Malaysia.

P.S . For those of you that were worried we got our bag back!
