The engineer in Titoots comes out!How many drunk guys does it take to figure out how to shoot fireworks straight up in the air? I guess really just one. The other three are pretending to help.
It just turned 2005. Mom is now 50 (yikes!). Everyone still has all their fingers after the fireworks display in the street. 2005 is starting off pretty well.
The New Year's here is different. This is not our first New Year's in the Philippines. We were here three years ago. First of all, unlike at home, people can go to any street vendor and purchase fireworks; not just firecrackers, fireworks, like mini-versions of the ones you see on the 4th of July. Everyone's lighting up in front of their house, trying to one-up their neighbor with who has the best and most fireworks. Of course, when you got Christopher spending most of his pesos on FHM Philippines magazines and fireworks and not on anything else, you know we've got to have the most on the street.
I'm surprised no one got hurt with everyone drinking up to the moment of lighting up that first explosive. We did however, see on the news, that others weren't so lucky. Seriously, one vision that I had is of a man who had fireworks blow up in his hand, only to leave his hand looking like carnitas. Yum! =/
Mom was presented
with her diamond earrings- no big surprise. I'm so happy for her. Not because it's her birthday and Dad gave her what she wanted, cause I get her other diamond earrings! I don't have to wait until she dies! Ha- just kidding... maybe! =P
The aftermathLook what Dikong Berting had to sweep up in the morning!
Finally!I see a nose in Alua, but only one in this picture!
All of usAt least in the picture, but I'm sure those two are celebrating with us.
