Getting from Tablas Island to Romblon Island proved a bigger task than expected. Only a few buses run each day from Odiongan Town to San Augustin, the departure point for the banca to Romblon. So we went to the Jeepney terminal in Odiongan and got on an empty bus bound for San Augustin. After a one hour wait, whilst all sorts of repairs were done to the small bus we departed. As expected the bus was loaded to breaking point with passengers and all sorts of cargo and music was blaring from the stereo loud enough to make your ears bleed!. The old bus trundled along the coastal road, which although very scenic, was also very rough! The bus kept stopping for more passengers until it was standing room only inside, the roof was full and people were hanging off the back! Then we broke down..3 hours later we arrived in San Augustin and there was the banca set for departure, tommorow at 1pm! Not an easy journey. But Romblon is worth it! The town itself is surrounded by lush green hills and sits on a beautiful natural harbour. Its a gentle, unhurried place, with remarkably friendly locals. Add to that
some beautiful white sand beaches, especially Tiambian beach and its a great destination, if you have plenty of time to spare!

Lovely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Still very jealous Ian.Sun shining here at the moment though. We're having a very warm end to March with drought warnings in place. Also threats of strikes from Petrol tanker drivers are sending people queuing at petrol stations and there's talk of more civil unrest and rioting like last summer...don't you miss the UK?????????? Hope you're having lots of fun! C x
