Being in the busy life of Metro Manila during weekdays, I always wanted to balance life by traveling out of town during weekends, holidays and when there are opportunities to do so. With few research and lots of adventurous attitude, I go to places without guide and without companion most of the time. Traveling alone adds to the excitement, fun and adventure. It was one weekend when I headed south of Manila. I boarded an air-conditioned bus bound for LUCENA CITY. The trip consumed the whole stretch of the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), then made an exit at Barangay Turbina in Calamba City, then passed by the municipality of STO. TOMAS (BATANGAS) then the town of ALAMINOS (LAGUNA) and the city of SAN PABLO (LAGUNA), then finally arrived QUEZON PROVINCE passing the municipalities of TIAONG, CANDELARIA ... read more

There is a significant population of Indians in the Philippines, so it's quite surprising that aside from Indian restaurants that have sprouted all over Metro Manila, Indian culture has yet to gain the same following as, say, the Japanese. All that may be set to change with the first ever celebration of the Holi Festival, India's festival of colors, in the Philippines. The event, held on Sunday at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay, celebrates the arrival of spring. I went with a couple of friends back in college to the fair, which started at 11 in the morning, and after paying a hundred pesos for our tickets, our faces were smeared with colored powder. A couple of food stalls were on site to serve Indian foods, and I had chicken biryani and a vegetable ... read more

So I finally got to try break dance! I'm glad that the organizers decided to give time for this form of art in this years festival. I realized it's kinda like Yoga, in which I'm in intermediate level, but with different music and speed. I was in there with a bunch of high school kids so I felt like an uncle. The energy was great though! So much enthusiasm from those kids and some of them already knew how to break dance. At the end of the 30 minute workshop we formed a circle to show off what we've learned in the workshop. One of the instructors pushed me to the center, and well, I wanted to show off a little. I didn't get to do the "baby freeze" at the showdown though (nerves). But I ... read more

After checking out at Joya Lofts and Towers in Makati, we decided to pass by at Resorts World Manila since it was on our way and it was still early so ok we said let's try to see what's the fuss about this place. We just took pictures of ourselves at The Plaza, a big open space at Newport Mall, there's also vast variety of local and international cuisine of restaurants for you to choose. While at the Newport Performing Arts Theater you can watch newly shown movies at premium cinemas or watch performances of The Sound of Music. While there, me and my sister registered to become a free member at one of their member ship counters. Before that, I already registered online so the guy at the counter just asked for my name and ... read more

i have a confession to make, i already replaced festival mall with SM Mall of Asia as my new favorite mall to visit! grabe i really liked to go to this place due to its very wide range of places to go, from places to eat, places to shop or places to entertain yourself! we also sampled the theater there and unlike other cinemas it's very spacious inside. what i really like about the place is you can choose from a very wide range of where to eat. there are very many to choose from, there are local cuisine, chinese, mediterranean, vietnamese restos some are very expensive but there's also a food court for the budget conscious. of course mawawala ba ang jollibee, mcdo or KFC? at the back of the mall you would see Manila bay ... read more
