 Beautiful Boracay! |

I had heard so much about Boracay I just had to visit! Some people had said it was awful, some that it is paradise! So I was intrigued to say the least. Boracay is I guess the number one tourist destination in the Philippines, famed for its white sand beach. So I flew from Cebu to Caticlan in Panay, tricycle to the ferry port, ferry across to Boracay then tricycle to the beach! Easy!
All the bad things I had heard were not true: no hawkers bothering you on the beach, they have thier own little zones to work from; no Jet Skis on the beach as they are all moored way offshore; no fat old bald men with tiny Filipino girlfriends, well not many! I think I was lucky as I stayed at the very southern end of the beach in a fantastic little resort, very quiet and relaxed, with fantastic staff, but a few minutes walk to everything!
Went diving and did the main sites such as Yapak, Crocodile Island and the Camia Wreck. Thought it was fabulous diving especially the ever so slightly challenging Yapak with Grey Reef Sharks and Whitetip Sharks. Awesome stuff!!
Its so nice just to wake up and walk a few steps to such a beautiful beach and its easy to find a stretch of sand all to yourself and then in the evening sit on the beach having a Tanduay and Coke or two!
All in all I would say Boracay is pretty much paradise, love it. Everyone walks around with a smile, cant really help it here!! Really gonna be difficult to leave and Im already planning on visiting again!

thank you so much for the update of boracay. i'm planning a family "soak up the sun" trip to aisan island. but i got stuck now since i heard the rumors about boracay too. boracay, philippine or redang, malaysia? but after reading this, i think that boracay may still be paradise.
