Since this is going to be my first blog of a place I’ve wanted to visit and a blog to encourage people from Sea Air to let me join in their trip. I would like to share with you how madly-deeply I love Travelling and the Food that goes with it and joining you in this Batanes trip will surely make my TravelBlog a lot more interesting.
It has been my goal every year to travel outside of Metro Manila just to relax and unwind from the busy, stressful and polluted metro. Most of all to Taste the local delicacies of the region, considering that fast food is what you always see convenient in the city. So in my travels real food is a Must, maybe some exotic dishes along the road will do, as I learn more of the different culture, traits and lifestyle even cooking techniques of the people in the Philippines.
Yes, only in the Philippines
you can call me Patriotic but I choose to travel our country rather than abroad simply because there are lots of things to see, to do, to explore, to share, to eat and to be proud of in our beloved archipelago.
Just like Batanes with its splendid scenic spots and great seafood - hmmm can’t wait to taste a fresh Coconut Crab, that can be found in the northernmost part of the Philippines.
Last week I just finished my blog about my trip in the Visayas for the second time around. Three provinces in one flight- Iloilo, Negros Occidental and Guimaras. It was amazing how I remembered every detail of our trip from the excitement of joining the festivities in Bacolod’s Masskara Festival and the sugar rush of all their Piyaya. Batchoy and Pancit Molo soup will satisfy your salty palettes in a very affordable price in Iloilo. While the nervousness I felt battling the huge tides and strong winds going to Guimaras were pacified as I munched their famous Dried Mangoes and cashew nuts. Although Kasuy in Palawan are much more crunchy and I just can't forget the salty and slimy Tamilok really a Palawan mangrove's delicacy. Talk about delicacies just read that Batanes have their Uvod to be proud off, wonder how it tastes like? Fishy? I just remembered something fishy, the Tawilis salad I had in Tagaytay, a delicious crispy little fish. Speaking of salads, Baguio Vegetables
Uvod Ballsmade of mixed deboned fish and core of banana steamed with local herbs.
is just so fresh comes in bigger sizes than typical market veggies I should say. While Baguio’s abundant strawberries were turned into Taho Starwberry sweetness in a plastic cup.
Ohh… I can just imagine the things I will go through in Batanes. For sure there will be cooler and stronger winds, while we indulge in some really wonderful food and learn more about the Ivatan way of living and Eating.
Food-Trip just sounds good together.
Still travelling and hungry...Last year I had a pleasure to fly with Sea Air to Boracay on their 19seater propeller plane. It was the week after Dennis Trillo lost a friend in Bora due to big waves and a week before Typhoon Ondoy strikes. We experienced foul weather, turbulence was just frightening, the plane’s propellers were fighting the strong wind but as we approached Caticlan airport the skies began to clear. The light was fantastic and the clouds were rather amazing! I was joined by my best friend and we had a great Banana Rum Milkshake in Boracay. With luck on my side we’ll surely have a smooth flight to Batanes where a plate of Sea Urchins awaits (hehehe).
some of my travels, food that I have tasted and experiences that I encountered along the road. Now am putting all my hopes up to be in Batanes, on a trip that I'll remember and relish for the rest of my life over a hot cup of coffee back in Manila.
