A week prior to my trip to Bella, I read a book of Mr. Nadeem Ahsaan published by Sanga-e-Meel. I found out about the lost history of Bella in that book. While going through it, i decided to visit the city of Bella in Balochistan. I planned a trip to visit this historical place along with my family and departed on February 26, 2017. Coupled with this trip, was my 20th wedding anniversary and what could have been a better gift then a trip to this place to my beloved wife. We departed from our house at 8am with all the necessary packed things inside the car. Kids were excited to reach the destination. Bella is around 185km away from Karachi and the route to reach there is through Hub River Road. The drive was very ... read more

So I normally tried to do what l'm told, could be debate there, but anyway this time I did go he wrong way, to tribal areas, specifically excluded on UK foreign office web site, and did rely on Pakistan security for probably a 600km escort, for which I am very greatful. The western areas have a lots too offer, mountains, friendly people, much more scenic and cooler route than west from Lahore through Multan, in theory obtaining a NOC document from Rawalpindi would be the way to go, but for for foreign tourist this would be very hard to obtain. See web https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/pakistan So from Rawalpindi I traveled west, following advice from the tyre shop, only when I stopped at a check point 40km from Kohat did I realise th error of my ways, alternative now ... read more

Welcome indeed! I'm a world traveller, mainly on business in the field of economic and rural development, principally in Asia, but other places too. I get to go to exotic places (like here in the Balochistan province of Pakistan) and someone else usually pays! I've visited more than 50 countries over the 30 years I've been in this game, so I thought that some of my experience could be useful to other people as I trek around, sometimes in 5 star hotels and business class, sometimes in a village via a donkey cart. If you are interested in my work as a development professional, check out my site at FoodWorks I'm also a physical fitness fanatic and those things are at Fitness A full business profile is on the networking site at: url=http://hk.linkedin.com/i... read more
