Ok so where was I? right after Bakhtpur we were leaving for Trisuli and rafting. the drive to Trisuli was amazing scenery. The road is about halfway down the valley and the constant downhill and twists and turns makes your ears pop. It took maybe 2 hours to get there and when we arrived we just chilled and ate dhaal bhaat then had some card games and played a drinking game which turned into boys v girls. Claire and meghan were picking abit on our guide NaZ but they came the worse off At Trisuli the sleeping arrangements are strange. You camp out in tents on the shore on the other side of the river Theres no way mam could have got over the foot bridge which is maybe 100 metre above the river.
The next day at Trisuli we were rafting for maybe 4 hours. to get to the start point we grabbed a ride in this lorry which was an experience and met up with another group who were rafting with us. The rafting was pretty easy going. Most of the time you et the river just float you along but when yu hit the rapids they are scary. me and claire were in the frnt of the boat and so got drenced every time. loads of times the rapids knocked us off our seats and into the middle of the boat. half way thrugh the raft we stopped and had lunch whicxh was really good before we carred on and rafted to the Trisuli centre.
That night at tisuli was pretty cool. Most of the tour group that rafted with us went to bed but we sat and talked to the rafting lads and the vlunteers who are there. That is a very hard place t be. te facilities are soo basic, one of the lads James, he got bed bugs that gave him cellulitis!!! After a bit more Roxy we had a bit of a traditional neapli dance with a drum and the women singing the same sog over and over. basically you just wave you hands around in small circles..
The next day of rafting was alot bigger rapids and the hangover didnt particularly help. One of the girls in our raft, Charlie, she fell out the boat on a totally cam bit but we got her back in. When it was nice and calm mst peoplewre in the water swimming which was good fun.
After the rafting our bags were there to meet us s we could put on some dry clothes then jump on our b uses to pokarah. it tok maybe 2 and a hal hours to arrive at pokarah. Pokarah is really beautiful but its still a bit hazy so only now and again can you see the peak of fishtail mountain. I will take some pics of Pokarah and where we live for another blog so yu can get some dea of what its like. but it is really really nice here and we have great food and clean accomodation. Ive finally got us into pokarah so that is enough for today. next time I will describe wher I live and the childrens home so you can have more of an idea of what its like here. x.
Just notced this comp desnt have a USB port for me to plug the camera i. Hopeully I can add the pics another day. x.
