QUICK STOP OFF

We had arranged to stop off at a place called Bhaktapur on our way back to Kathmandu airport so we left Nargakot at 8.30am. We had been offered a tour of here in Kathmandu but hadn't gone so it was good we had the opportunity to fit it in as we were literally passing it anyway.

It is an old town just outside Kathmandu. The architecture dates back 100's of years and it really is a town within a town now. It is fully surrounded by a very high wall and you have to pay to enter. Open court yard areas, large temples and really old local housing. We refused a guide and just wondered around it was nice but we were glad we had not made a special trip to visit as it was much smaller than we expected.

So that done we set off to the airport. We were both a little deflated that we were having to go back to Delhi to get our flight into Hong Kong. We were due to arrive in Delhi around 5pm and our flight out was the following morning at 7.40am. We had already pre-arranged an extra night in the hotel we had stayed at before and even though we were not keen to return staying in the airport was not a choice either. Anyway, we departed on time and decided we would have to grin and bare it.........
