MongoliaGetting ready to get on the horse (Billy Idol)..
Days 30 - 33
At last finally arrrived in Ulaanbaatar and we met our tour guide and the rest of the group before heading to a hotel for a shower YAY!! All of us really happy to arrive at the showers until we saw thesign bathhouse.. Turned out we just had a room with about 5 showers in, ha ha ha..
After everyone had had the most awkward shower EVER we headed to breakfast :) it wasone sausage and half an omlette so not the fry up i'd hoped for so i just filled up on the rolls..
We had a tour of the ity including the monastary with a gigantic statue of some gold buddah or something?! and went into a buddhist school where they were all chanting it was pretty weird.. We headed ack to the main square and to a MOnad restaurant for dinner.. I was almost to ecited to speak when i spotted steak and chips..
After demolishing my food and feeling a bit sick we headed to a Ger Camp where we stay for two nights.. The ride there was a it tricksy of road in a coach!! I was a bit
annoyed as it would of been so much better if i was the one drivig through the hills but nevermind.. The Ger's we were going to stay in looked like igloo's but made of material and the camp was about 70 km outside the city.
It was so cool we were literally in the middle of nowhere we walked up to the highest closest mountain which was a bit hard after four days sitting but i got there and you could see for miles of nothing..
After a three course dinner the guides tried to get us to do a dancing competition (i couldn't move after my day of binge eating let alone dance, not that i can anyways).. Then musical chairs, a weird hoice i thought since none of us were 5 but i played anyway and won woop woop gota free beer.
A few of usten proceeded to get very drunk (well 3 of us) and changed the rules to 'Big Nose' slightly to come up with the game 'Mongolian Wanker' whereby the loser had to shout that.. Ha ha it was so funny i bruised my nose whilst having a chair on my head..
(rules to follow)
The next day i felt fine prob still had quite alot of vodka in me whereas Pete weren't so good.. After breakfast i went horse riding which was alot of fun, i got a horse that bucked if anyonewas behind me ha ha.. Wasn't laughing when i got of th horse 2 hourslater though and i couldn't walk!!
That evening we played a few games including knucklesand horse racing, won the knuckles game an came 5th on the horse racing although we tried to cheat to finish the game cos it was going on and on and on we didn't realise we had to get 5 to finish.. We then got very drunk again playing our new found game..
On the last day in the Ger we didn't wake up for breakfast and the guide had to come and get us ha ha.. We then had 30 minutes to eat pack and cear up the mess we'd created!!
Back in ULaanbaatar we cecked into our hotel and then went for food where i again stuffed my face with a chicken burger large chips two slices of pizza and 2 cokes. After that had
to lie down so ended up watching tv all night. It was great scrubs, friends, greys anatomy, armagedon some other film i was in heaven.
OUr train to Beijing was 08:05 the following morning so an early start and i was soo tired. When we got on the train after trying to nap we were disturbed by someone making some weirdo noises.. We later found out he was doing mongolian throat singing (he sounded like a ad a diggery doo i thought rolph harris ws in my cariage!) We started plying the name game and our forfet ws we had to mongolian throat sing for 10 seconds. I am rubbish at the game and had to do it 5 times although there was more laughing than singing going o.. WE had a few people come in to see what all the noisewas about ha ha.. It s so funny..
Ger Camp..In our Ger drinking out of the smallest cups EVER!!

hi
luv the thought of you trying the mongolian throat singin. Maybe you could do a bit of buskin if you get stuck.
sounds like the foods a bit hit & miss would try and buy some provisions you can carry just in case.
It's great to hear that your trip is settling down into that get up, look around, find pub, get drunk routine. Can you find a supermarket to stock up on packs of crisps or pepperami, to keep you going? Maybe the next big town you hit? Loving the blogs keep them coming, Aunty Kate
