Hello everyone...
By the time I publish this blog I will be back ‘chilling’ in the UK… So as the sun sets over the Indian Ocean I am starting to write my final blog (for now) from Maafushivaru as the snow-capped Alpine peaks of Switzerland are calling me once more so it’s farewell to paradise in less than 24hours…
There is such a fantastic atmosphere here on Maaf – I really will be sad to leave and I will miss everyone so much, especially Marie & Ron, Sara & Marco, Aude & Per, Jenny and Abdullah – thanks guys for the party last night... Massive and heartfelt thanks to everyone in resort who made me so welcome and whom I really will be sorry to say goodbye to.
I imagine the Dhoni will be awash with tears when I leave to board the sea plane – And it was!
I had my final Bodu Beru night the evening before I left – just as I’m getting the hang of it too, I must be good though as the team has made me the one & only
honorary female member – but now I need to concentrate on my yodelling!
This blog is about
big things, proof that size really is sometimes very important…
So the
big news is… I have been snorkelling – past the
big stick into the
big sea and I saw a
big shark – it was brilliant!! Now I have my confidence there is no stopping me – except work of course!?!? I have even been practising ‘jumping’ off the big boat… well I say jumping, much to the amusement of the boat crew and whilst the boat was moored at the jetty, Jenny (dive centre and all round great snorkelling buddy) and I boarded the boat and although she jumped off I sat on the edge and rolled onto my tummy then plopped into the sea… In an extremely unladylike fashion - We then swam/snorkelled to the beach and repeated the process – 3 times!!
All this however, was in vain as I ran out of time to go see the Manta or turtles and jump off the moving boat for real – guess I will just have to come back! And
in a poorly planned clash of schedules I haven’t been out snorkelling much with my Mafiose mate Sara… Maybe one last time this afternoon…? Yay we did it – Jenny, Sara and I jumped, leapt and rolled off the boat – in that order… snorkelled to the big stick, did a little photo shoot, then on out into the big sea for one last time – for me anyway.
The next
big thing is my
big toe… you may recall I stubbed it pretty badly when I first arrived in resort and it seemed to heal nicely and all was well… Well it isn’t now! My toenail is beginning to come off and it’s now hanging on by a bit on one side – a bit like me in the big sea… It’s not sore it’s more annoying and I need to be careful not to catch it – last thing I want is to tear it off – does anyone know about these things… Do I get another toenail??? I think I do I’ve peeped underneath it and I can see the start of my new nail – urgh gross!
It’ll be a
busy few days when I’m back in the UK… I need to get my tooth sorted and now my toenail too not to mention being in serious need of a hair-cut… my hair is
BIG! It really is crazy wild out here with the humidity, just like last year and I have no way of controlling it – even the coconut oil is fighting a losing battle this time around – so add big hair into the mix and this is why it’s a
‘big’ blog!
Oooh I went on the sunset fishing cruise a couple of weeks ago – I caught nothing, in fact the only person who really caught anything was the boat captain and he handed his booty over to the little French boy on board… the child was so pleased as the Captain made it look like he had caught the fish. There was such a proud look on his face as he was photographed with ‘his’ catch… the only exception to this was when a snapping and rather angry Baracuda was hooked – the little boy kept his distance from that one, just giving it the odd curious glance.
It’s been a few weeks since the last blog and I’m sure there is plenty more I could/should be telling you all about but to be honest the long flight home has taken its toll and I can barely remember my name let alone what I’ve been up to the past few weeks so this will just have to do for now.
Big thanks once more to everyone here on Maaf for looking after me so well and for allowing me to share in a little bit of paradise… And to Ron & Marie, that final gesture was out of this world – thank you both so much… A true once in a lifetime experience!
I’m sure I’ll be back to see everyone on Maaf but for now it’s a very sad and emotional goodbye.
Maybe once I’m settled in Switzerland I’ll churn one or two blogs out – who knows…
Take care everyone, happy & safe travels
Love Tallulah x

BIG things!
Thank you for your really happy blogs. Yes you will get a new toenail - mine is growing slowly! If you get to Switzerland and see her before she leaves in April please give Hazel a big hug from me.
