Leading up to me stupidly booking my flights to be stuck on a plane during Halloween (clearly we don't celebrate it at home) everyone thought we could celebrate a little earlier.
The last 3 days i had left of Singapore, I spent in Malaysia :) Vig drove me up there in his very lovely car, as he was racing up at the KL F1 track and knew how much I was missing Luane.
I learnt a few things along the way, like how to pay off a corrupt Malaysian cop and how to get away with speeding. We maxxed 267kmph on the freeways, which is fast for me considering how strict the aussie road laws are.
Vig had a mad electro cd playing in the car, which i requested for my birthday (I have it playing right now!!).
We drove through a countless number of storms, complete with lightening, thunder, rain and errrr sun.... welcome to malaysia!
Coming into KL we had to go through a 2k long tunnel. Vig turned to me grinning and said "You wanna scare the shit out of some people??" No prizes for guessing what my answer was... We revved the car
in there with the sound bouncing off the extremely close walls. you should have seen how quickly these cars all moved to the left lane, as we raced past them. Good times.
In KL we stayed at the Sheraton. it's a nice hotel, although I did forget the whole muslim culture in malaysia, and was wearing a pair off shorts.. oops will remember to research the country i'm going to next time!
Back into a change of jeans, we met up with Lulu and Paul, and went for dinner. I stayed at Lu's place (She lives in a hotel over there! amazing) then we met up with the boys who drove us to the track.
I did a few laps in Vigs car.. the helmet was too big (or i have an unusually small head?) which made it a little hard to concentrate, but I was still having the time of my life.
Lu, Vig and I then drove up to the genting highlands for drinks and to see the view. it was COLD up there. the first time in my entire trip I've actually felt cold!
We headed back to the hotel, where I got a text from
a friend from Aus, Joel, who had a stopover in KL and wanted to catchup. I told him to meet at the hotel then we'd go out from there.
The first thing he said to me was "You're not with those two hot cars out front are you?" all i could do was smile.
We all went out minus Paul, to Zouk. where they take your temperature before you enter the club.. some new Swine flu preventative.
Inside we somehow managed to drink 3 bottles of Vodka between the 4 of us, and suddenly the next morning was here, like a scene out of "the hangover" none of us had any recollection of what had happened (at least we hadn't lost anyone!)
We drove back to Singapore, saying goodbye to Joel. Me going in Paul's Porsche GT3 because Lu was coming back to Singapore for Halloween.
We made it back with one hour for me to pack. My roomate Jana was sitting there looking all sad. We both know that we will meet again, just going to take time!
As i headed towards the airport a huge storm broke, yay for bumpy flights! :)
