Here are a few photos from my time in KL.
We spent 3 nights there, and managed to squeeze a fair bit into that time. The first night we made our way down to the shopping/eating district, which is pretty manic to say the least. One of the malls (Pavilions) put on a show, which included a fashion show and the prime ministers wife, plus other high ups giving speeches about the great country of Malaysia - all this just to launch a sale! probably not something you will see in Cabot Circus.
Just along the street is Berjaya Times Square. This place is a must see, and includes 10+ floors of shops. To say its big is a bit of an understatement, as it includes the largest indoor roller coaster and theme park on one of the floors - which is exactly that you need when you go shopping!
Shopping aside we found much more to KL to see. Perhaps the best known is the Petronas Twin Towers. They look pretty amazing at night time (see pictures) and are set in the heart of KL city centre district, which has undergone some major redevelopment. We took a
tour up to the skybridge which joins the two towers. The good news is it was a free ticket, but in order to get it you have to queue up from around 7.30 am for 2 hours. It was a struggle but we managed to do it. Some Chinese tourists had been there since 5am, and managed to get their tickets a whole 10mins before us so that was quite amusing. The view from the top is good, but you only have 10mins up there before they herd you back down to take the next group up.
The KL tower in comparison was much better, you can spend as long as you like up there and then when you come back down to earth you get a go on the F1 simulator. I managed to come 3rd- which judging by the girls face was the best she had seen in a long while. So im leaving that door open as a possible career on my return.
