This time we didn't stayed in GH
Time to go home had come and we needed to leave Krabi behind and head to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to get to the plane to London, England and from there finally to Helsinki, Finland. We had a long, long way to go but we didn't mind. Our super cheap tickets from KL to London by Air Asia, which has just opened a new LLC route between Malaysia and England, kind of made the long buss trip up.

We were though wisely (at once!) so we had almost couple days in KL to calm down, do some last minute shopping and what was the most important, to get our hair done. The condition of my hair started to be such an horrific (dry, without a proper cut and yellow, what would be more charming?) that I needed urgently to do something. Otherwise I wouldn't be ready to reach Finland. Yup, I'm the person who says all is well when your hair is well.. so it was really up to the hair. Of course I'm joking but really, there was a grain of truth when speaking about the hair.

Kuala Lumpur, was once again amazing. We had been there once on

in BB - Plaza
October so the city itself was not new and we knew where to go, more or less. This time we booked more expensive hotel with the full breakfast etc.. on purpose. It was our last night in Asia and after those night buss(es), buss changes and three hours waiting in Penang we more than needed proper bed and clean sheets. Sadly we needed also to wait another eight hours after sitting 20 hours in the buses since we were in KL 05 am and the hotel's check in time was so late than 2pm! And of course whole the hotel was fully booked.. That was the time we went to get our hair done.

After a good night sleep, next day BB - Plaza in KL was fascinating shopping paradise which contained more extraordinary and personal shops and stuff that some "normal" shopping centers. It was an ideal place to buy things for my friends and relatives. Luckily I didn't need to carry my backpack almost at all after Malaysia. It's always a same problem with the souvenirs, why's that personal stuff and presents needs to be so heavy?!

Those couple days in Kuala Lumpur I was somehow confused but happy. Confused to go home after half a year studying but happy since our five weeks travelling after that had been such a success that it was a good decision to leave when we still had so much fun there. And of course I missed people in Finland as well.

Air Asia's plane to London's Stanstedt was pretty ok. Taking into consideration it was a LCC everything was ok ( no tv, music, lot of space or so which are normal e.g. Singapore Airlines' planes) but we reached the London just a half an hour late and were in terrible rush, not even three hours to get our next plane which left from Heatrows airport, another side of London.. And we made it!! Or actually our great great taxi driver did it. He was driving like maniac, swearing like a pirate and it was a morning traffic 9.30 am when we left from Stansted and even more, there was many accidents happening on that route but he was such an excellent driver that we reached the Heatrow just in good time. Afterwards even our English friend was impressed about that speed!

So here we were. Traveled our way through Asia. Starting from Singapore and ending to London and after couple of hours landing to Helsinki, Finland. I did not know what to feel or what to do ( so I did nothing) and in what order. Last half a year had been amazing. Truly. I think it will take another half a year to process that all which I had seen and experienced in my head, at least. But hey, I was happy, I still am.

Maarit @ Finland
Couple years travelling behind, who knows how many to go!? I am a young Finnish woman, at the moment living and studying in Finland. Originally I started TravelBlog to keep my family and friends in touch with my journeys and also write something down for myself. This blog contains e.g. my student exchange period in Singapore and journeys after that elsewhere in Asia. I apologize for any inaccuracies or assumptions in my blog, I try my best - sometimes it isn't good enough - sometimes it is...here's the photos, look around, comment if feel so and enjoy! ... full info
